The heroines journey & Shakti ascending
Liberation is not different for a man or a woman
But the journey to freedom has different initiations & rites of passage for men and women
The journey of maturation does not end at puberty
But must continue in the subtle realms
And if energy rising is arrested by society prematurely
We remain as boys & girls in adult bodies
And the energy of transformation is pressed under, kept in a cage under the surface
Where it grows into an angry monster
Patriarchy refuses the right & the rite for men & women to pass through the gates of spiritual maturation because then they won’t need outer authorities to tell them what to do, they will be the authors of their own lives from within
Women fear their aging and grasp at outer things to make them stay young on the outside…, in stead of becoming wise on the inside… And the men need the women to stay young & weak to keep the feminine energies of transformation under control—so that they can feel in control of the world
Awakening IS energy/shakti rising to complete maturational cycles
Best we don’t wait for a “midlife crisis”
The journey we are “allowed” in our culture is templated on “the hero's journey”/the masculine path of outward success
Women must be re-oriented/initiated to the women’s path of consciousness which has universal characteristics
There should be spaces/groups for only women, as women’s voices cannot truly be free in the company of men, at least not yet
The feminine way is the feeling capacity, to enter darkness/timelessness and to create/produce knowledge/speak from that space, like a seed grows from soil or a child is birthed from the womb
Transition & renewal happens through the darkness - a void of not knowing anything - the great underworld walk through the timeless unknown from which she will rise & return with great wisdom & medicine for herself & others
