Book Haul: May Edition! My indie bookstore purchases started to show up this month, and it was my birthday, and I asked for books!! My ~Driscoll Vibes~ TBR has been replenished for sure (and just in time, too).

I’ve been asked how I go about world-building. The truth is that I have an overacting imagination that likes to escape into different worlds. However, I did find Wonderbook very helpful back when I wrote The Tinderbox Tales and started writing fantasy for profit and not just for fun. I highly recommend this book! Have you read it?

I got Wonderbook: The Illustrated Guide to Writing Imaginative Fiction by Jeff VanderMeer for my birthday, and I haven’t dug into it yet, but I will say it is visually compelling. Sitting down with it and a cup of my favorite tea here in a few minutes. Hopefully I’ll get something out of it. I could use something.
