Poor Charlie

I know it's a movie, and he probably doesn't realize it, but Bill in Bill's Candy Shop in Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory just gives kids a lot of candy in the beginning of the movie and poor Charlie just stands there in the window looking so sad. It really breaks my heart. Watching kids enjoying their candy and he gets zilch. (Then again, if he (Bill) was giving free candy, why didn't Charlie go in and have some?) Maybe Bill made them pay for the candy. But that's a lot of candy. Even if Bill was giving it for free, that's not very ethical in business... They never explained that...
