Izuku was a sound sleeper. It had always been that way- or, no… no it hadn’t. But in recent years, he’d found that falling asleep was a lot easier. Between how hard he worked himself and how early he roused, it tended to be a simple matter to shower, dry off, throw on pajamas, and pass out almost immediately on impact. And he tended to sleep fairly heavily (mitigating circumstances and his brain not withstanding ). In that respect, it was pretty hard to wake him without actively trying- his mother proudly claimed he could sleep through an earthquake if he wanted to.
So then… was that a knock that had woken him up…..?
His eyes dragged open, and he looked blearily toward the door to the hallway. Someone was… knocking…. at this hour? He looked to his alarm- 3:38am…. who in the world was up and looking for him….? “…. ‘omin’….” It was a slurred response, almost quiet enough that he was entirely convinced the noise had left the echo chamber of his chest. But he slipped off his bed, knees almost buckling in his lethargic state. He rubbed his eyes. Biting back a yawn, he staggered across the room.
The door crept open, and he winced at the hall light as he peeked out. “… what’s up…?”
