I'm not sure why the r-slur is the only slur I have such a visceral reaction to. Obviously, seeing and hearing people that have no right to reclaim the n-word or g*psy(or any other slurs) angers me, but the r-slur? I feel it in my heart. It's a similar feeling as when I'm anxious and it immediately ruins my mood, no matter who says it (obviously, people that can reclaim it can say it, but my brain doesn't care)... like, i will be watching an older anime and the (fan)subs will use r*t*rd instead idiot or stupid(which is what was actually said) and I will go from 🥰 to ☹ real fast to the point that sometimes, I will have to stop watching for sometimes and distract myself... The weird thing is... this slur don't apply to me (i don't think? I have adhd, depression and anxiety..) and i don't remember ever being called it, or hearing it much IRL except for a couple times when it was some french variations.
Any of you knows wwhy? 😔
