4. What is your zodiac sign?
i am your friendly neighborhood textbook capricorn! i’m a little saturnine, a little guarded, a little superstitious though i’d never admit to it, and a lot way too emotionally invested while trying desperately to appear detached. also: acid stomached and bad jointed.
not very - i believe i was 5′1″-something when i last went to the doctor three years ago. combination of short mama genes and possibly the accutane i started taking at 15. WORTH IT!!!
14. Are you psychic in any way?
as your friendly neighborhood textbook capricorn, i will of course gently scoff and say “not at all, and furthermore don’t believe in any of that, though of course everyone’s entitled to their own opinion on this,” but the older i get the more and more i absolutely always trust my gut. anytime i have ever had a strong gut misgiving about something, it has always turned out badly. so i trust that motherfucker every time, these days.
28. What type of music do you like?
thank you for asking, this is the PERFECT opportunity for me to pimp the rambly music masterpost i spent way too long on and published the other day, documenting 20-odd years of some of my favorite tunes!! if i had to nail down some like...trends in my music taste, i’d say i like music that creates an atmosphere or a soundscape, particularly an otherworldly or “shimmery” one; i like music with thumping bass you can feel in your stomach and throat; i like music with surprise modulations or unexpected chord progressions or suckerpunch lyrics that make you catch your breath and go “oh!!”; and i am a total slut for any music that makes use of atypical styles or instrumentation - particular modern music that uses like traditional instruments or music styles from older parts of the culture: see leehom wang, dino merlin, nickel creek. i’m still looking for the perfect “hillbilly rock” band, that uses fiddles and mandolins and bluegrass harmonies but, like. metal.
30. How many pillows do you sleep with?
just one, but i have to keep replacing them like yearly because i need a certain amount of fluffiness - two pillows is too many, but a flat pillow is hell on my neck. i also currently have a pillow upright behind the one i sleep on, but that’s just a guard to stop my hair falling behind the top of the bed, because i’ve been woken up more than once with a cat hanging off my hair if they catch any of it dangling.
51. Are you scared of spiders?
i am SO SCARED of spiders. it’s my one real phobia - it’s bad enough that if i’m playing a video game with even sort-of realistic giant spiders in it, i can only stay in the area so long before i have to fucking abort.
96. How did you get your name?
as i said before, my mom’s middle name is Ann, but i think Sarah was just a nice compromise my parents came to as my mom was desperately trying to talk my dad out of naming me Crystal Dawn.
