i have been working from home since March. i took calls for a major insurance company (assisting with billing, adding/removing coverages, etc) and recently, along with being stuck at home all day every day, the customers and my team leader have been k*lling my mental health. i was being threatened with termination for transferring too many phone calls (even though they were valid transfers to departments that could resolve the issues when i couldn’t). yesterday i took the day off and applied at a few locally owned and operated businesses and just sat in a small sandwich shop for the day and worked on my book. it was much needed. working from home doesn’t give freedom if they’re monitoring whether or not you’re at your desk and forcibly clocking you out if you go idle between phone calls.
today i quit my job for my own mental health.
