Client so bad, everybody is thinking about finishing the whole picture framing family business altogether.
8:30 in the goddamn morning is too early for me to be putting out fires from clients who magically expected us to read their minds and do hours of work for them with no prior contact or work agreement in place
Worst Coworker, most intolerable coworker, is trying to help me fix a problem that isn't her business really and I'm genuinely worried she'll make it worse.
does anyone know a Polite Business Casual way to be like "actually don't fuck with this, please, I've got this?" she'll be mad either way but if I say it Business Polite I can't actually experience consequences.
literally I messaged the group chat like "I am having this problem, does anyone have contact information for Department X*?"
and she swooped in to be insufferable and try to manage the situation which doesn't need to be managed.
ETA: figured it out, she doesn't want me to message the director of that department for some reason. fortunately, I also do not want to message the director, so we are in accord and can move on with our lives.
we used to have some cool junior people in that department but they all quit because it sucks here so now our whole legal team is one (1) lady, which won't be a problem later, I'm sure.
If one more old man calls me "sweetheart" at work, I'm jumping over the till and putting my pen in his neck
Work
I'm getting fired tomorrow morning.
I'm not exaggerating I'm not being dramatic. I have known since Monday I'm getting fired soon just now I know for sure when.
What makes me more upset is that the supervisor knows and has been talking about stuff for me to do next week. Training I need to do for a new employee. Things I need to do for my cases. Yesterday afternoon and this morning I had a false sense of hope that I would be keeping my job. Walking in to HR and seeing the look on her face when I stopped by to grab a piece of candy on my way to break confirmed it.
I'm not supposed to know but I'm not stupid. I have been packing up my desk for the last few days. Between the fish, dog, and my collections I have a lot of stuff.
I'm going in extra early tomorrow to put my boxes in the car since I couldn't do it today due to my emergency run to the vet. I am trying to figure out how to also get the fish tank cleaned out to go as well. HR said she would keep him for me until I can get him.
another day of work, another day of wondering how a nationally-ranked construction company doesn't have their damn paperwork up-to-date with the state....
Remember kids: No matter how bad your day is going, your boss will always have the ability to make it infinitely fucking worse.
Not me breaking a piece of museum glass. Just 5 times as expensive as the normal one...
