Protip: don't come at your barista with sass in one of the situations where we're allowed to say no, we will not take your shit, we don't care which son is getting married for the nth time, all the public bathrooms are closed due to city ordinance, being upset about it doesn't get you special privilege, and we will passive aggressively sanitize everything you touched as we stare you dead in the eye
@lacependragon
There are cryptid customers that you learn of if you work as a barista long enough or are in proximity to a seasoned barista long enough. One of those is the "I'm allergic to foam" customer, which is nonsense because milk foam is air bubbles in the milk. You have to be allergic to a) the milk used or b) air.
Anyway, I am expecting a fairly average prickly customer in the drive thru. I am not expecting the foam allergy cryptid. But this person rolls up and straight up opens up the order with with "if there is one air bubble I will send it back because my stomach cannot handle foam".
I make the mistake of looking away after taking their payment. When I look back, an entirely different person is there - the cryptid has driven away. Unfortunately, they reappeared, this time inside the store, and has the poor girl making the drinks remake it twice because there are visible air bubbles.

Wonder if there'll be nuns at work again today

Aw jeez : ( what the hell is wrong with them? That's really mean and uncalled for them to say, not to mention completely unacceptable in a work environment.
The comments about being ‘mean’ or ‘snippy’ were were probably meant more playfully than I took them as. Doesn’t mean I shouldn’t think about those comments and maybe take that into account for the future.
Today’s thing though, about the very sound of my voice actively pissing my coworker off, hit waaay too close to insecurities about people secretly hating me and that kind of thing. Apparently she didn’t mean it that way? But the way she said it - over headset - and then how no one called her on it???? Left me feeling like she meant that.
