Working on the website locally using MAMP / installing wordpress on the computer

1. Turn on MAMP
2. Create a database in PHPAdmin called 'wordpress'
3. download wordpress http://wordpress.org/download/
4. Put the unzipped wordpress file into the designated MAMP server ie. MAMP/htdocs
5. Access the local site ie. localhost:8888/wordpress
6. Follow the installation
7. Enter these details:
database name: wordpress database host/server: localhost database user: root database password: root
8. Enter your blog name and email address and password
9. You're done! now you can log in at this URL:
http://localhost:8888/wordpress/wp-admin/
10. To edit the website, access MAMP/htdocs/wordpress and edit from there
The website will preview on:
http://localhost:8888/wordpress/
