Season changes and Procrastination
So spring is here and it has arrived with plenty of rain showers.
For the last week, I’ve found myself being unmotivated to complete work assignments. I work for a tech education startup and I’m in charge of creating new curriculum with real deadlines.
I find myself getting distracted or disinterested in actually sitting down and doing the assignment(s) I’m supposed to be completing. Instead, I’m looking into things that interest me on a personal level.
I’ve had issues with procrastination (in general) in the past but never like this with my current position. I know I’m stressed out (both professionally and personally) but I still need to produce *something* by the end of next week.
Here are the things I will do (today) to position myself to reset and refocus:
Write down everything that needs to get done over the next few weeks out on paper
Break down the most important (time sensitive) tasks into smaller chunks
Look at my calendar next week and schedule in the time sensitive small chunks
Eliminate any unnessary time sinks (i.e. chatting with co-workers, social media, current books I'm obsessing over, etc.)
Eat healthier next week (via packed lunches) to gain more energy overall
