Time to scream into the funny void…
Rant incoming.…
Warning: If you’re a Feyre fan, keep scrolling, this post wasn’t for you.
Nothing will convince me Feyre is being properly educated in the Night Court. It’s been months since the war and no one thought to explain basic Night Court customs to her for Solstice. She had to hear about it from Nuala and then about going to Hewn City in passing from Mor.
Even if she doesn’t know shit about other courts, she should know about the traditions, customs, and etiquette of the Night Court. We can say she’s taking lessons all we want off screen but it’s the quality of her one screen education that counts. Books are about showing, not telling. And on screen, I do not see Feyre pursing knowledge for the sake of understanding her court. What I do see is Feyre learning from Rhysand and the Inner Circle and not confirming anything for herself. What I do see if when Feyre recalls what she learned, it’s in reference to Rhysand. If you want me to believe Feyre is strong, capable, and intelligent, then I want to see her pursue knowledge and do some critical thinking independently from what will benefit Rhysand and the Inner Circle.
I don’t like Feyre and I never will. She is not a heroine I want to explore the world with. I don’t care about her, I care about the characters and world around her. But I don’t like people trying to shove down my throat that Feyre is this intelligent, wonderful, lovely ruler when this girl waited until it was almost Solstice to question if there were court traditions and ceremonies to attend.
It’s also just really disgusting that the Inner Circle don’t participate in Night Court customs because that sends the message to their people that they are above the common folk and their culture doesn’t matter. They’re not normal rich people, they are RULERS. Customs and traditions are suppose to inspire unity and good will for a court and the Inner Circle just basically shrugs it off.
Also given High Lords are connected to the land magic, why isn’t Rhysand participating in ritual and traditions? Magically, wouldn’t that help strengthen your connection to your court?
I know this is just terrible writing on SJM’s part but it’s exhausting.
Anyway, Feyre reads like a dumb teenager who thinks she’s untouchable who’s cheaply cosplaying as a High Lady TO ME. If you like her, good for you, I don’t give a shit. This post wasn’t for you. If you think she’s amazing, keep it to yourself. 👍
I’m just screaming into the void for myself.
dying cause i said that i hated jonathan with a passion and my friend whispered to me dead seriously “is it cause he listens to the smiths”
NO
i have many reasons for hating jonathan one of which is the fact that no healthy relationship can be built on someone taking nude photos of the other without consent
Struggling with a lack of confidence and flow in my art, but still trying for her (out of spite, loathing, disappointment)
My most hated characters in Malcolm in the Middle
Lionel Herkabe: He bullies Reese, manipulates Malcolm, and is probably the worst teacher I know.
Kitty Kenarban: She abandoned her husband and Stevie. Besides, I just find her unlikable. (She plays a similar role in The King of Queens).
Dabney’s mother: Just the way she treats Dabney is so ugh… I found the birthday episode disturbing even as a kid.
Craig Feldspar: The two of them have something in common. I find them both incredibly intrusive and creepy. That was only topped by the concert with Reese, but I find him absolutely awful anyway. The way he’s obsessively attached to Lois. Wtf?!
Ida Kenzel: She was always awful, but she even wanted to sue them. I think I could go on forever. She’s simply one of the worst characters in the series.
Lavernia: She treats Francis, Eric, and the others absolutely terribly. The working conditions are just the worst. I’m really glad that he has such good experiences with Otto and Gretchen afterwards.
This is a personal list. I know many people love Herkabe, but I don't share that opinion. :)
None of them come off well in my fanfiction.
Man. Maybe i should just get over my hatred of jax and watch tadc
I hate to say it but
