[...] 'past this dying world' is the 3rd track and the single of the album 'hold our spirits in your hands', the 5th full-length release by Wounded Masquerade. this album explores a narrative of sacrifice, illusions of salvation, and cyclical self-destruction -- SYNOPSIS -- in a future where humanity has hollowed itself out, and is now socially fractured, emotionally numb, and environmentally ruined, one person becomes convinced that humanity lost the spark that made it human. ever since childhood, they have felt watched or guided by something beyond human understanding. as the world and its people keep deteriorating, this belief turns into certainty that, somewhere in the universe, higher beings capable of enlightening them on what humanity did wrong and how it can be saved exist. driven by this conviction, they begin to believe that leaving is a sacrifice that has to be made. if the answers cannot be found on earth, they must be beyond it. the cost of this journey is absolute, the body is left behind so what remains, the soul, can travel where flesh never could.
