If we're talking 'protagonists' of World of Warcraft, Goblin Shadow Priest adventurer has kinda had a journey of it, First, you get denied your formerly much-hyped position leading the Bilgewater Cartel because a giant green jerk steps in the way mumbling something about destiny or whatever and he sees potential in having the guy who basically just kidnapped you and a bunch of other people lead instead Whatever, you become like a regualr adventuer for a few years deal once again with the green jerk and his poor leadership decisions until you get drafted to fight the demon invasion and gain a magic talking void sword and my goodness does it have a way with words, you almost feel bad about throwing it away when a demon with a far bigger sword plunges it into the core of the planet That is until you find it again, and hungrier than ever, and it is now a she as she possesses the body of a dead elf she sent you to kill. later she offers you to a giant squid and tells you she'll be back. oh well, at least the green jerk finally replaced that dictator with someone decent And she does come back, and she's using what is technically your people's cultural artefact to turn spiders extra spider-y until it breaks and now YOUR former magic void sword is asking your former kidnapper/capitalistic dictator to go fix it, he's also been oppressing even more of your people underground because goblins never feel like the priority. You go and chase him down but because your former corrupt leader isn't a particularly smart man he hands the cultural artefact over to a group of people who are now threatening to destroy the entire planet. at least you got to fix a problem that, to you, should have never have been a problem. All you can think about is if this 'thrall' dude hadn't pushed his way into making a decision on your behalf, none of this would have happened. there would have been no high priest and nobody to bully your people into working for a sword you never found. maybe there wouldn't be a planet about to be destroyed either.

goblins in world of warcraft have an appeal of urban fantasy to them in a way that i haven't seen other mmos replicate. to a reverse of magical realism almost. in a land of invading alien demons and squid monsters who want to consume the universe, there's this group of people who know what a 'privacy policy' is and it blends together without further questions. you know they were discussing the legion invasion at the diner.

i didn't know who renzik was prior to meeting him in the ringing deeps sidequests he shows up in and also he is not voice acted at all in this patch, where he is a major character. why did they not get a voice actor (hell even just the default goblin voice actor) to do a voice for him when he's a main character in this patch. did they expect me to feel sad for this guy's death when i've kept having to remember to read his lines in my chatbox?????? seriously blizzard. please do better i know you can afford a voice actor to do a silly goblin spy voice

Faux cover for the original WoW RP that @deezmo and I wrote a few years ago! These characters and their lives have been so important to me, and I wanted to specifically honor that 💖 It took about 30 hours ^^'

This art belongs to me, as do Copperwell, Rusty, and Cogmill. Marax, Nymrina, and Dredgewick belong to @Deezm0. And to clarify, this is not a real comic or upcoming project, it's just a love letter to these OC's origins!

This is focused around the main bulk of the early story from 2017-2018, where a lot of their most formative stuff happened. There are way more characters involved, but I could only draw so many lol. I put a lot of time and love into this, please let me know what you think!

Koggle's fiancée was a warrior, and she volunteered to fight against the scourge fairly early on. she was extremely good at her job, and was often given fairly important missions. he was basically just a medic, but was captured to be used as bait to get her. she tried to save him, but prioritized her mission. he was killed and never found out if she succeeded or even survived. he was brought back as a death knight, and after leaving the scourge he and another death knight have teamed up to figure out some kind of semblance of a normal life. and also kill the lich king eventually. they’re working on it.  Koggle is violent and aggressive, but loyal and protective of his one friend. he loves cooking and tinkering and thinks it would be cool to have some kind of shop once he’s done avenging his own murder.

This is Mohietto!  it’s pronounced like the drink “Mojito”.  He’s StarryMountain’s character, but was drawn by Thistlepath.  Mohietto is Daighkare’s brother!

Mohietto is a member of the Steamwheedle cartel, and neutral.  He’s naturally super magical, he could easily have been an unusually brilliant magical class.  However, his family wanted him to be a warrior.  His father died a hero trying to save Azeroth, and Mohietto felt a TON of pressure to follow in his dad’s footsteps and try to be a heroic warrior, helping to defend Azeroth by swinging axes.  He feels like he can never measure up, he can never be good enough for anything, and is useless, but he keeps trying to prove himself.

Mohietto believes it’s okay to live more in the imagination than reality if it makes you happy.  He likes to imagine that he is a fairy princess from a magical Elune enchanted forest.  He is a cis straight man, but he prefers feminine fashion and prefers the term “princess” to “prince”. 

His mother was a high fashion designer, and he grew up traveling all over the world for all her fashion shows and stuff. 

He is afraid to throw things away, stuffing all his bags with literal garbage.  Mohietto cries more days than not, and almost every battle he sobs afterwards because he feels like he was a failure (even if he single-handedly murdered a dangerous leader of some terrifying group).

As a child, Mohietto and his sister were attacked by a skeletal slime blob.  Mohietto managed to get away, but his sister was killed.  He was seriously scarred by the event.

Unlike most goblins, Mohietto loves nature and the environment and natural things, and feels in tune with it and desperately wants to protect it and WOULD kill over it.  Despite what probably everyone would think, he genuinely could have been a druid, if anyone would have bothered to train a goblin.

Nollix’s very first deal with a demon he made with the goal to somehow try to make a difference in the world without having to be less lazy and despite being so weak and frail (from being excessively lazy).  He made a deal where basically a demon lets him use their power - he’s never studied magic in his life, nor has he even studied demons, any magical abilities he has are not his own but borrowed from someone he has a deal with, and owes for.  he says, “I’m giving my life to them.”

Nollix has always struggled with socializing.  Saying he is socially inept is an understatement, and he is likely on the autistic spectrum.  He has always struggled making friends, and despite having 24 siblings, has felt pretty alone.  His only “friends” are demons, but I kind of doubt they actually gaf about him.  Nollix seems to have an addiction to making deals with demons, cuz he has a laundrylist of them, and is giving away way too much of himself...
