I found a movie called A Monster in Paris, and I’m sorry but there are so many parallels and stuff that I gotta list them.
The first being the title: A Monster (The Phantom) in Paris (of the Opera); c’mon.
(Also them both taking place in France in general and all).
Another is character names (likely just common names there, but still okay? I’m obsessed and can’t not think of Poto when I hear them). One of the main guys is called Raoul; and another (although minor) character is called Carlotta. Even though the former isn’t very similar to the man we know from Poto, the latter is a rich woman who’s all about fame. (Just not her own fame here).
Raoul likes the main singer lady;
Who has an angel theme going on, and is constantly referred to as the angel of their city or something for her voice.
She’s also the first person to empathize with Francœur - the “monster”.
And she emphasizes because of one of his songs - a sad one about being referred to as the Monster of Paris; something everyone sees it as and seem to always see it as forever.
The singer lady (Lucille I think?) gives Francœur a mask to hide the whole being the monster of Paris thing.
