Old Mortarion Redesign for Messages For Dad(fanfic)

So the Warhammer40k fanfic Messages for Dad is a phenomenal fix-it fic for both 30k and the 42 millennium at the same time.

People were talking on the thread about how it would look if Mortarion joined Isha instead of Nurgle and I created this piece of art. Unfortunately, even though the OPs enjoyed it, it wasn't what was planned and was made redundant by later chapters.

Still, I had a lot of fun with the design, so thought I'd post it here for other people to enjoy

This painting project was very near and dear to my heart.  I’ve wanted a Wraithlord for ages, so I got a used one and...just kind of ran with it.  My GLORIOUS BRO, silrasia, designed all of the runic markings on it for me and I’m really happy with how it all came together.  It’s done up as a homage to one of her characters.

The Eldrad Ulthran miniature was a birthday gift from a friend.  The Eldrad sculpt is awesome, but...instead of being just Eldrad, I have done up my “Eldrad” as an Eldar OC.  (And a homage to one of silrasia’s characters, to go with the Wraithlord.)  I’m headcanoning that one of the warlocks I did before got a little lost on their path and, BAM, Farseer.

Did both of these with Vallejo model colors - probably the last thing I’ll paint for a while before I start playing with Citadel colors.  FINALLY get to bust out some Agrax Earthshade.

Got some Xmas money from my parents so...filled out my Psykers with a Spiritseer and a Warlock Seer Council!  Definitely have enough HQ’s now.  Have more than enough HQ’s.  If anything I have too many HQ’s!

Might try and kitbash some leftover Guardians into Ranger proxies to do something about that.  I think that would be fun.

I'm fine with the wraithbone retcon I think. It's still grown, its still psycho-reactive and it having physical, material components is fine, its still a superior material to anything the Imperium has access to. The idea of it being pure warp-stuff always felt a bit off to me since that's the shit daemons are made of and it can be banished back to the warp because of that nature. Wraithbone has always been shown to be something different so it being a hybrid of warp-stuff and material minerals works FOR ME. YMMV

Fourth Company Assault Intercessors. These folks were primed #Wraithbone or white.
