My city switched from free downtown parking to paid last month. Which, fine, I understand but don't love.

I was annoyed all over again when the company I work for still got billed for our regular downtown parking tax (which we paid in exchange for letting our customers have free parking) and then notified that we will still have to pay it for the first year.

Turns out I accidentally wrote that check for the wrong amount, which means that today, after hearing through the grapevine that the city made like $7k in income on the first day, I got a notice that I have an unpaid late balance.

All this to say, I finally had enough cause/annoyance to tape a single penny to a bill and slip it in an envelope
