Do not worry. You have always written before and you will write now. All you have to do is write one true sentence. Write the truest sentence that you know.

Writing Tip #183
Write without concern for what is “proper” or “acceptable” (to an extent!). A book about a person who never did anything wrong where all of the characters are morally upstanding and never swear or lie or steal would be the most boring book ever written. A good piece of advice is to write as if your parents or guardians are dead. Don’t worry about what moral judgements they would make about the characters in your book, or if you’re giving away too many family secrets. Writing is about truth and about writing what is true to you. Give yourself permission to write your truth without concern for your family.
the thing about falling in love
No one believes you. Not even yourself. We dance around it and sidestep it, turn our eyes away, scroll through our phones and giggle. We’re scared. We’re scared of real love and we’re especially scared of being loved. It’s one of the anomalies of the human soul.
I have gone through those feelings of insignificance. Do you know how it feels to tell someone that your writing is your love, your true authentic self, and yet people will simply skim over your fiendishly toiled handwriting just to say they saw it? I’m talking about hundreds of hours of self-concept super condensed into mildly artistic format for easy digestion and it’s still not supported, but at the drop of a hat support THE most basic accolade or formality that their friends or family achieve? It’s wild.
