Just for fun…
Writers, if your work were going to be adapted to a different medium, what would you want it to be? For the purpose of this poll you can only choose one! 😉
A live-action movie
An animated movie
A live-action TV show
An animated TV show
A stage play (non-musical)
A musical/opera/concept album
A comic book/strip (including manga)
A video game
A tabletop/board game
A radio drama
Something else
I wouldn’t want my book/s to be adapted
Your wip’s protagonist is stuck in an elevator with other people. What are they doing?
Panicking— tight spaces are not fun
Wildly pressing every button
Chatting up everyone to pass time
Staying quiet and waiting patiently
They have an emergency plan in place for such situations
Taking out food and having a floor picnic
Cracking jokes, annoying everyone
Daydreaming or journaling
Reading the book they brought
Trying to bust open the doors with brute force
Trying to climb up the emergency shaft above them
Jumping up and down to scare the others
Okay, so as a counterpoint to this survey >>>
What's your writing productivity superpower?
Capable of writing in any environment, no matter how distracting
Really good at planning, plotting, and sticking to every detail
Unwavering dedication to working on just one (1) project at a time
Champion of sprints, banging out huge word counts as if in a trance
Master of scheduling writing time on the calendar as if clocking into work
Walking talking wellspring of fresh inspiration and new ideas
Just a tad bit egotistical and eager to share my genius
Uncanny ability to improvise plot points in the middle of drafting w/o a plan
Killer follow through, rarely able to leave projects unfinished
Oh, I just write on my phone constantly between doing other stuff (how??)
Slow and steady wins the race, I'm not putting productivity on a pedestal
Something else!
Hey writeblr I have a question!
So I often see posts in the same vein as this one here:
Things along the lines of "oh my characters are always changing the story, they're the ones that are really in charge."
Is this something that you personally relate to as a writer?
Yes, this is something I can relate to
No, not really
Another wip poll
the options are sorted from the least recently updated to the most recently updated
Which story should I focus on?
Hero vs. Government
Happy Spouse, Happy House
Pym Particles and House Spiders
An Offer You Can't Refuse
Trust
Something To Do With the Multiverse
Hero Darling
Frederick and the Fae Promise
I couldn't include the yanderes because there weren't enough poll options, but please let me know if there's one of them you want me to also prioritize or if you want me to make a separate poll for them! If you have questions or comments please add them as well!
Just a little poll for anyone who wants to answer!
How many WIPs do you currently have?
Just the 1. It required my full attention
Between 2-3. It’s enough to have different things to work on!
About 4-7. My brain likes to work overtime.
7-9. I don’t sleep because I constantly have ideas.
10+. I am crazy.
So what do y'all think of a deconstruction of the isekai/reincarnated genre titled "Reincarnated, And My Tyrant Father Adores Me!?"
It's a deconstruction because:
1. the father isn't so much a tyrant as he is HELLA strict and emotionally constipated
2. the "reincarnated" MC was actually 16 when she died LOL. It's partially played as a running joke that "I WAS ALMOST AN ADULT UGHHHH"
3. it's very much more focused on the world/worldbuilding. The father teaches the MC to be a good leader as she grows up
4. the MC is familiar with the genre, but her backstory doesn't give her an advantage because she wasn't a fan of it
5. the reincarnated MC actually isn't overpowered and lacks confidence. She grows into her own during the story, but will never be in full control of everything
6. let's just say the MC isn't the only reincarnated character in the story lol
Thoughts?
Decent title, but seems pretty average honestly
Decent title, and seems like a good deconstruction!
Decent title, AND I WANT IT NOW!
Good title! Isekai isn't my thing, so idk about deconstruction
Good title! Seems like a poor deconstruction, though
Good title! Good deconstruction!
Good title! AND I WANT IT NOW!
Terrible title, but I'm not an isekai fan.
