The best thing about being so behind with editing and posting my fics on Ao3 is that I get to add little nods to the later chapters in the early chapters now. It may only be me who recognizes them, but they fill me with delight. And just maybe, some of you who read here, will reread the final version on Ao3 as well and they will delight you as well. One can hope.
Burnout fueled by a lack of completion is so real. Like being able to start so many different projects but being constantly unable to finish anything is the perfect burnout cocktail; without an end in sight its so easy to just feel like nothing was completed UGH
the most disheartening thing for writers to ask themselves is whether they actually like the idea they came up with or if it just felt original. am i struggling with this because i don't actually feel compelled by it or is it just hard to write?

i don't know if you needed to see this.
but this is how it might look like when you're reworking your own story after one year from its completition.
and it's okay.
if you don't recognize the words, the sentences, the flow. if you don't recognize your characters anymore, if you find plot holes, mischaracterizations, mistakes. if you read something and you're annoyed because you could've made it better. if you read the descriptions and notice there's a misplaced mole on your main oc's face, or a plant that should've been next to a window and not on the drawer, if the mirror is on the wall next to the closet instead of the window.
it's okay. you can make it better now. get back on it. one sentence at a time. word after word.
you have time. it's okay.
Writing down vague ideas/prompts
Pros: more WIPS!! Ideas are down! You’re writing!
Cons: more WIPS, what do I do with all of this now?? What if it’s so stupid and vague and incoherent? Imposter syndrome
The Writers Dilemma
I have so many ideas but they evaporate the moment I want to write them down 😞
