The urge to write for Misha's Harvey Dent...👀👀 But I have no idea for a story about him...sadly...😥
Me: Okay brain. I feel like writing. What you got?
Brain: Writing? WRITING?! Action! Okay, I've got four stories. They're all going to compete for your attention. And, I have two more already cooking on the back burner. Just for you! In case you need them. ;)
My overwhelmed ass: O.o
Sometimes you just have to force yourself to write.
Just pick a scene, any scene at all, and start writing.
I know you might think it’s bad right now, but you can always change it later.
The last time I updated Social Engineering was March. I have been fighting with the next chapter ever since. It is October just in case you haven't noticed.
I'm dying here.
The first bit is the sticking point honestly. I don't like it. I have been tinkering with it for months. I'm too stubborn to scrap it entirely so it looks like I'm starting over again. Help.
Hey brain, stop coming up with ludicrous niche crossover ideas for Mass Effect fics when I'm trying to work on my current longfic.
...even if I think a Bloodborne x Mass Effect Fic has incredible potential...
It's so damn unfair that I actually have to, like, write and edit and post stuff in order to get people to read and comment. Why can't I just mentally project it and receive instant praise? Where is that technology, I ask you?
As a writer, one of the little things I love that’s kinda stupid are untiltled documents. I love going through my drive and finding untitled documents and opening them up and seeing what they are. I know it’s kinda weird especially because a lot of writers aboslutely hate reading their old writing, but I actually love finding something I wrote that I forgot about. I might go through it and make a few minor changes or even start working on it again, but most of the time I just leave it untitled for me to find again.
Besides the old writing I cringe over is usually labled.
My Brain: You know what story line is way over done? The “Freaky Friday” body switch thing.
Me: Oh yeah. Liked the original FF when I first saw it and really haven’t had use for it since.
My Brain: You know what we should do?
Me: ................something not involving body swapping?
My Brain: We should body swap Thomas and Anna.
Me: How about ‘no’?
My Brain: There could be a curse...
Me: Done to death. Alex51324 just put out the reduced age Thomas thing with a curse. I could come up with nothing that was at all new or interesting spin wise. Just no.
My Brain: Imaging Bates finding out! Would Thomas sleep at the Bates house, or in the attics? What about Anna?
Me: Brain......
My Brain: What would Bates think waking up next to ‘Thomas’?
Me: You’re going to be on about this all day, aren’t you?
My Brain: YOU BETTCHA I AM!
Me: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!
And that is how I spent my entire eight hour shift thinking of scenes to go with a story I don’t want to write with a plot that actively annoys me and I still didn’t murder anyone, which is proof miracles happen.
