#BreakingTheMould #WritersLife #WritingTips #WritersLiberation #WritingSkills Someone once told me that I shouldn't try my hand at story series, because it wasn't my strength. Mind you, I'd never written one before. All he'd read of my writing were my Christian articles and short stories that were like parables. If I had listened to that person, I would never have written #TheChurchGirl, my first story series, which I later extended before deciding to convert it to a book. Now, I have TEN self-published novels. In another group, someone said or implied that you can't be a poet and a novelist, that you should just know which one you are and stick to it. I strongly disagreed. I have been a poet for longer than I've been a novelist. Though I've been a story teller since childhood, I never actually got far in my first attempts at writing stories. All of my first writings were poems. Now, I don't only write poems, I write songs. I write articles. I write short stories and story series and novels. Soon, I'll be writing scripts for movies. I will also publish non-fiction books. I am really not trying to do everything, I am just a writer who can write anything... My genre isn't fiction. It isn't romance. It isn't Nigerian either. I believe my genre is Faith, and I seek to use any and all means to communicate the message God has given me. Please don't let anyone put you in a box and tell you what you should do or can't do. As a writer, you have a special gift to CREATE and break all molds...even religious molds. You are only as limited as you believe you are. #AuthorsPerogative #WritersFreedom #WordSmith #DoItYourWay #BookEditing #Poetry #WritingStyle #Genre #Write #Creativity #Imagination #Freedom #WritingFiction #WritersOfInstagram #AuthorsOfInstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/BpgnT6BHKH5/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1hrf986w7vqq
