Like, instead of reading a book for enjoyment or to learn, they are reading your WRITING... Looking for flaws, looking for opportunities missed to showcase your writing prowess, looking for what you forgot to mention etc. These ones never get enraptured or lost in the book, because the whole time they were "reading", they were "working" as judges. And this shows in the way they give feedback. Two people can read the same book and one can't stop going on about how awesome the MESSAGE was, while the other couldn't get past the FLAWS. As if they were offended that the writer had the nerve to think they could publish a book...and they just have to be the ones to tell them that they are not good enough. I think those people must be really miserable. They have lost the ability to escape in fantasy or BOOK HEAVEN and just enjoy a story or a book for the message the author saw to pen down. Maybe they fancy themselves as professional book critiques or better writers... I remember one time I was at #Beyonce's concert, and I was determined to record as much as possible on my phone to save and watch later. Guess what? I missed out on a WHOLE lot. I wasn't seeing Beyonce with my own eyes and revelling in the atmosphere and the moment. I was too stuck trying to save a memory on a camara, that I have now lost, and the one that God gave me to save this beautiful moment in, I only have in its place a miserable night. Honestly, at one point I am positive she looked at me and was sad, because I just looked miserable, like I was doing a job, because I clearly didn't come to have fun at her concert! That's the same thing that happens to those readers who do not read to be swept into the Author's world, but only so they can tell the Author how they could have done it better in their "review".
