insect/bug phobia based torture has been on my mind a lot lately. not just ‘i’m scared of spiders’ kind of casual fear but serious, pathological, irrational terror that comes from being exposed to the object of your phobia. physically restraining someone (either with arm/legbinders or tying them down to something. no escape but flailing potentially allowed.) & straddling them to keep them further held in place & having a clear tupperware with the bug of choice clearly Visible in it. no danger to the bug & no danger to the victim. but if you’ve got someone severely phobic on hand even just seeing it in that close proximity should work to panic them. setting it on their chest or holding it above their face just to see how far it’d be possible to make them squirm and thrash and cry and beg to take it away. sheer bone deep fear of something trapped behind glass and it’d be So much worse if you were handling it loose, so they should be grateful.
