A little graciousness goes a long way in the world of book editing. As an editor, I remember the author who was appreciative of my editing work way more than I remember the author who resisted the change of a verb. It’s not personal. I’m trying to help.

Hey, so what's the etiquette for tagging stuff like blood and violence in written fiction on tumblr?

I personally only filter out things that relate to images I don't want to see. But maybe that's not universal?

I tag stuff pretty liberaly on AO3, like any mention of violence at all, I tag it. But on here that maybe seems like a tag that should be left for actual real life violence?

making a character christian/muslim/jewish/of any other religion is NOT an excuse to shit on or disrespect the religion. Noe is it an excise to play into stereotypes or to make a mockery out of that religion.

hey if you send fanfiction writers death threats and rape threats and shit for not updating a fanfiction quick enough for you, you are scum and i don't care what you have to say to defend yourself. it's fucking creative writing, you can be patient and wait for updates just like everyone else. grow up.

the fact some (usually young) people still on wattpad believes its okay behavior to withhold a smut chapter(s) until they get certain amount of reads its horrible etiquette. i'll unfollow on the spot for that sort of thing because i respect my readers.

i would like increased reads on my original fiction as much as the other person. but i rather work on it over a long time and readers genuinely interested to read. its far too easy for authors to get addicted to numbers and stats. when the true gift on sharing a story, is the community and friends you make on the way.

i'm constantly working on having a reliable schedule for future book projects. and to complete them as well. 💛 i hope to see some of you there.

Can you tell me about how the writing prompts system works for johnlock fics? I’m a writer who is a bit stuck lately. Where can I find prompts? How do I know if they have been filled already? How do I tag/give credit to the prompter? Any advice from you or your followers would be appreciated. 🙂

Ahh, there's no real "formality" for prompts: you just find something you like, and write it! You don't need to "confirm" that you wrote the story, just write it, and link back to it in your notes. That's all! AND if it was someone specific who had a prompt, you can gift the story to them too! Trust me, as someone who rarely gets any of my prompts filled, I ADORE when I get a surprise gift for something I headcanoned, so people will love YOUR interpretation even if it's already been written!! <3

Ah, I have a few of my own prompts you can check out, as well as the headcanon tags you can check out! @sherlockchallenge has monthly prompts and a YEARS long backlog of prompts you can choose from. @bluebellofbakerstreet has over a year's worth of Inksolation Prompts, and @ohlooktheresabee is currently running Pridelocked which has a new prompt daily for the month of June, and has a pinned post for request for early access to the remainder of the month for writers.

Those are the ones I know of that are currently ongoing, but seriously though, if you advertise as yourself that you're looking for prompts, I've a lot of Lovelies who will come to you with some ideas! <3

Seriously, there's no "right way" to do prompts... they're literally there to help you with ideas, to get your juices flowing. And if you do decide to write and publish, let me know, and I'll be happy to signal boost your stories! <3

Nonnie, I promise I was not offended by you asking. I'm glad you asked instead of acting on it. I have had stories and intricate details lifted and many other writers have. There are writing etiquettes and it's always a good to discuss. I'm still not an expert and I was new to the community once!
