i would like to be transparent with you all regarding my absence from tumblr over these past months.

i have recently been informed that several members of my family in both palestine and israel, as well as members of my partner's family, have passed away as a result of the horrific attacks that have been carried out in the middle east because of this war. i have been taking this time to pray with my partner for all of the innocent lives that have been taken from this earth. this war is destroying millions of lives. my heart aches every day because of this. i am scared to leave my home as an israeli muslim, and my partner has been scared to leave our home as a jewish human being. we live in fear of hearing the news we heard recently again and it has been making life miserable.

i assure you all that i am okay and will not be going anywhere, i just have been taking time away from social media to focus on keeping myself whole with my partner in this extremely difficult time.

The culprit (as with a few other DDOS attacks recently) is Anonymous Sudan, a group that is likely Russian, not Sudanese. The ‘reason’ they gave–that AO3 is “full of disgusting smuts and other LGBTQ+ and NSFW things,” is thin and probably not completely legit, though still legitimately concerning.
