I Broke My Promise

I stayed up till 12:30 writing my high fantasy outline, and honestly? I don't feel guilty. I'll finish the short story, but can you blame me for taking a break from it? It was completely unplanned and writing it is a pain.

After staring at a blank screen for thirty minutes, I was finally able to write six plot points for my outline. It's small progress, but it's progress nonetheless. I know that one day, I'll be able to finish my book, and I'll be able to torment the queerphobic with my multiple LGBTQ+ characters.

Fanfiction Idea 1.2

Fandom: Transformers

Title: Do no Harm, Your oath abides.

AU Summary: (horror/ adventure) A young human protagonist comes into contact with the Transformers because they're trying to escape an abusive situation. In this case, munchausen by proxy from a family member or trusted authority, who is using their guardianship situation to perpetuate medical harm and financial fraud. The yet as unnamed human nearly dies as their attempts to get help and get away from their abusive relative fail with the human authorities (they reports the truth and aren't believed-likely due to appearance). It ends with them taking drastic measures to survive, as they believe that staying in this situation will kill them sooner rather then later.

They ended up breaking out of the hospital during an appointment and stealing/hiding in an idling ambulance nearby during their attempted escape. Unfortunately (for their abuser), the ambulance in question turns out to be a surprised Ratchet. The human ends up getting rescued (read: kidnapped) as a result. Given the family situation isn’t possible for a safe return, Ratchet adopts his first human like a middle aged man taking in a shaking rescue kitten. The human ends up becoming a temporary medical lab assistant.

The next immediate problem comes with the acknowledgement from the government that this is technically a kidnapping, and the protagonist has to be returned home. While the main abuser is eventually caught and stopped, the protagonist still has to deal with the fact that the other people in that living situation abided by that harm…and that the unnecessary legal guardianship still hasn’t been removed, which means it could happen again. The protagonist goes home, tries to make things work while attempting to pursue an education, and when their loved ones choose to diminish them rather than give them the tools for success that working with Ratchet helped teach, the protagonist chooses to get abducted by Cybertronians rather than continue their old life.

This is a meant to be character piece for Ratchet, but it also sets up for a mini-oc who works as a mechanic medical assistant.

In case it might help anyone else, here’s the outline/structure I’m currently working with for writing a mystery serial kind of story. Also I tend towards 2000 words a scene but that could easily be scaled up or down as you need.
