Well I am officially off of work. My body’s request for a nap can now be processed. Everything points to the issue being resolved in a timely manner. This will result in a well rested brain. Once brain is well rested we can beginning working on request to write the next chapter of big vampire lady fic.
Let us see how Failing Grace goes this weekend. If real life permits that is.

For this week, we think we will focus on one of our newest WIPs to be introduced, The Rapunzel Witch!
Certain things get hooked in my brain for fic ideas and I tend to worry them around in my head. Most of the time nothing comes of that, sometimes it makes me come up with an idea.
One of the things that I’ve been poking at mentally is the part in the third novel where Banba tells Lin he used to be a womanizer in his early twenties and after being betrayed he’d decided to stop dating.
I’m sitting there thinking, what would Lin think of that? What does that mean for Banba? Has Banba given up romantic love forever? What does this mean for Banlin?
So that swishes around my head. And sometimes a hook appears, that hook is usually dialogue. A piece of dialogue comes into my head and hooks me in, and then I write that dialogue down and from there it becomes a scene, from there it becomes a story.
So a hook hasn’t come yet, but that passage in the LN is still swishing around there and maybe a hook will appear. The hooks come when I’m walking, or when I’m in the shower, or just before I fall asleep. Or it may never come.
But...it’s interesting to think about these things, even if nothing ever comes of it.
It’s harder in a smaller fandom because I often get ideas from other fic, or other people’s thoughts so it narrows the things that I end up poking at.
Those are my rambling thoughts on how I come up with ideas.
Does anyone else have ideas that they feel would be fun to explore?
I’m trying a new approach to writing. Instead of focusing on number of words per day (I generally try for 1000), I’m going to try to get each chapter finished in three days. It doesn’t mean they have to be polished, a fact that’s driving me crazy even as I type this, haha. But it does mean that if I stick to this schedule, I should have a working, albeit very rough, first draft of The Heartfriends Book 2 by the end of April. So, yay.
