H A P P Y T E A C H E R ‘ S D A Y to Sir Pornobi! (a.k.a. my dad: Ronald Pornobi)
I thought I wouldn’t get a chance, or should I call it a privelege to be his student during my JHS years, because some would say it’d bias to have my dad as my teacher in some of my subjects. But the school admins trusted my dad in his role as a teacher in class. You know, he’s very extraordinary! He brings life to school mornings everytime he’s the emcee. His fluency in english is remarkable. His professionalism as a teacher is always on spot and yet see the father-aura in him. And he is so, so, so SMART! Like legit, there’s like no stupid question he cannot answer. BTW, he’s my teacher during my grade 7 and 8 school years in Bayanihan Institute. All students who studied in BI and attended flag ceremonies everyday will never forget the color Sir Pornobi has brought to the students, teachers and staffs of Bayanihan Institute.
His tagline everytime we are asked to proceed to our respective classroom in the end of every flag ceremony in the sunny and cloudy mornings, some would even join him at saying it because it has been part of the morning of BInians: “God bless Bayanihan Institute!”
Well I too have a tagline of how I would describe my years having Sir Pornobi to be my tecaher: “My JHS years wouldn’t be THE JHS YEARS without Sir Pornobi.” 💞❣
Send someone a letter ❤️ Love this :) Came across this earlier, written on a post box. How cute :)
A Myspazz Written Letter: Non Asians in KPOP
Hello everyone this is Jacquan of Myspazz13production hear, with yet another Myspazz Written letter. I would like to say first thank you for continually reading my post and I will continue to work hard in bringing an entertaining post, also before I continue I would like to reiterate that this is MY opinion, and mines alone, some may agree, some might not, kudos to all, but if you have a problem with this please create your own account so you can voice your opinions, anyways let us get started shall we.
Recently Cover artist and former front man of Haert2Heart Chad Future, Collaborated with Vixx's Ravi, for what Chad calls his AKPOP (American Kpop) debut. The song was entitled rock the world, and I must admit it was pretty damn catchy, the beat was on point, and both Chad and Ravi were holding their own, yes the music video looked like B.A.P's Warrior, but all in all it wasn’t bad(again my opinion). Now if you have been following this whole ordeal, you will notice people have been venting since day 1 about Chad getting into Kpop(even though its Akpop-whatever that is), many Kpop fans have taken to Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and Forums, to show there outrage with comments of he sucks or this is stupid, or WHY RAVI WHYYYYYYYY. The public has spoken many people don’t like what chad is doing, yet he still continued on any ways and released the MV, now some of you kind of came around and said “ehhhhh it wasn’t as bad as I thought”, some of you stayed the same seething, these people I want to take the opportunity to address, you see I want to point out some of the things that confuse me about some of you and right now, as I'm talking to the butt hurt international fans who aren’t of Korean and/or Asian decent. Even Though Chad never called this strictly KPOP, people still perceived this as just that, and therefore criticized him of doing Kpop and not singing in Korean(because that is what is required), but my problem with this is why then do you consider Big bang's #1, Big bang's with u, Taeyang's Connection , JYJ's Ayy girl, and Empty are considered Kpop songs, hmm and don’t give me that “well there Korean bullshit”, cause you guys would be the first ones screaming about American music discriminating against Asians because of them not able to sing well in English, next one that got me the most is, well still has to deal with the language thing, but of the fact that when Chad was doing his parts(which where in English) you guys where like EEWWWW, your awful, with that said most of you (again talking to the non Koreans) cant understand Korean, yet when Ravi's part came up you guys where like that's the shit(News flash, your unfair Biasness is showing). In the 90's we where taught to be independent, a leader not a follower, a lone wolf, you go get your and I get mines, but now we live in an era where everyone is following the latest trend, and the particular trend I'm talking about is being a hater, now if you think I'm talking about you then I probably am. Its not only haters, but venters as well, and while it is OK to rant and give your opinion, it becomes a question of who has there priorities straight when some of you go on someones social network or YouTube and consistently bash this person for what they obviously love to do. Im not a fan of Chad future(nor do I not like his music hes kind of an in between for me), but what I'm not gonna do is continually bash this man for something he loves to do, I'm a grown ass man whose getting min, while Chad is going out getting his.
With that said we FINALLY approach the main part of this blog post, should Non Asians (meaning completely non Asian, because whether or not bi racial people do have bragging rights) be in Korean Pop, in order for you to understand my reasoning, first let me explain. Kpop is constantly evermore growing, in fans, in media coverage, in everything that connects it to places outside of not only Korea, but Asia in whole. We as fans (both domestic and international) in order for Kpop to be taken seriously from a global market standpoint, whether you like it or not, they need to become more diverse, now people who claim that diversifying KPOP would get rid of its Uniqueness are either new Kpop fans( 20010-present) or is completely blind, as a fan of Kpop fans since 2006 and knowing of Kpop since 1998, I can tell you right now the concepts have been the same, for years, for women your either fierce, sexy, ore filled with aegyio, for men your either sexy, masculine, bazaar, or cute, there has been no real change in KPOP since big bang debut as a more “HIP HOPISH” type of idol group, I'm sorry but its time to shake things up a bit, now this doesn’t mean Kpop cant still be unique, in fact, Kpop is a totally different genre and shockingly has a lot more moving room then American pop (ill explain that in next weeks blog post), with a whole new playing field, comes a whole new game, there are so many things you can do with a diverse group not only in concepts, but music, and filming, plus if you wish to connect with a larger audience, sooner or later your going to have connect in some way, and the entertainment companies are starting to understand that, rumors have circulated that there is only 4 Asian members in JYP's upcoming girl group 6MIX, YG has been holding open Race Auditions for 3 years now, some smaller companies have also started to search in those type of areas to get a one up on the big 3, and we can only Imagine what Jay park and his new company has in store for us, it goes without a doubt(like I said earlier whether you like it or not) as time goes on KPOP WILL become more diverse. However for those who agree with me you also need to understand that this will come at a price, and it wont be easy in order to even be excepted(we are not talking about becoming famous and having tons of oober Korean fans) you are going to have to undergo a serious culture change if you wish to be apart of this change(not saying forget your roots) you NEED to learn Korean, no exceptions this is KPOP after all, also you are going to learn how to act different in public and how to speak to constant people in a different way things will not be easy. All in all my final answer is YES Non-Asians should and will be in KPOP and my final reasoning why is simple actually pretty simple really, if Korean Idols, singers, rappers, actors, actresses, models, athletes can make Advancements into America, and are cheered on for it, why is it such a taboo idea for someone that is not Asian to make an advancement into the Korean Entertainment industry.
