Staring at the sleeping figure on FP’s sofa, Y/N knew that this is how things would be now. Being at separate schools, different friends and seeing each other for a few hours here and there.
She’s in love with the boy that slept peacefully, like he had no cares or worries in the world but in his conscious state he had plenty.
“Mm” He hummed, stirring slightly. “I smell fresh coffee” A sleepy grin on his lips, his eyes slowly adjusting to the dimly lit trailer.
“Thought you might need it” Grabbing a mug and filling it for him.
“I don’t know what I would do without you” He chuckled, making his way towards the small ajoining kitchen.
“You would be lost without me” Handing him his coffee, a tight lipped smile on her lips.
“Thanks” Kissing her forehead as he gently accepted the waiting mug of steaming coffee, sitting down on FP’s kitchen seats.
Things felt tense between them. For a couple who didn’t see each other very often you would expect them to have loads to tell each other but they were left with silence. Awkward and uncomfortbale, almost like strangers.
“What went wrong?” Y/N asked, speaking her mind.
“I moved to the south side” Jughead, sighed running his free hand through his tousled hair. “Things have changed a lot, in a short space of time” Sighing, as he ran his hands over his face, in annoyance at their situation.
“What if you have to choose?” Gulping down the lump in her throat. It wasn’t a question she wanted to ask but she needed to know if it would be expected.
Making his way towards her, placing her mug to the side and taking her hands in his. “I can only hope that it never comes to that but I need you to understand why I’m doing this” He almost pleaded.
“Jug, I get it. I do” Reassuring him. “I’m just scared that one day, I’ll wake up and you’ll no longer be the guy I fell in love with” Shrugging, as she laced their fingers together. “I don’t want you to get so caught up in keeping the south side running the way FP did and get caught in this facade you use”.
“I love you” His voice barely above a whisper. “I need you to believe me when I tell you that” Nodding her head. Taking her into his arms, her face buried into the crook of his neck, his hands running up and down her back, taking away some of the tension.
“I also need you to have faith, that if I lose myself in all of this that I will find my way back to you. Everything’s changing, but I can’t let how you see me or think of me be one of them” His voice barely audible towards the end but she heard every word, tightening her arms around him.
