Been thinking non-stop about this AU,, I wish I could do more than just simple doodles but university and working on getting a driver's license is taking ALL my time (╥﹏╥)
I do have some extra general thoughts/ideas for this AU... I'm gonna put some of them in a read more after the banner here! ^_^
Ok so! I have a few thoughts related to the doodles :]c Just gonna put them all in list form here
Emmet's Eelektross becomes extremely clingy to Ingo. Emmet and Ingo share and swap their Pokemon a lot so I think they're very close with each other's teams. Eelektross will cry like a sad wet puppy if he's left alone for too long. He spent almost an entire month clinging to Ingo after Emmet disappeared.
Chandelure has become very protective of Ingo after Emmet's disappearance. She could sense something powerful had been there when she found Ingo knocked out in the subway tunnel. Something beyond normal Pokemon.
Continuing off that point, I think the literal tearing open of space time left a lasting effect on the area. Ghost and psychic types are especially affected and do their best to avoid the tunnel. Which also put another roadblock in the way of finding out what happened there in the first place, seeing as Ingo doesn't remember.
Any attempt made by psychic types to assist Ingo with remembering or trying to peer into his memories generally doesn't end well. Both for Ingo and for the Pokemon involved.
I like to think Ingo is a very chatty person. He enjoys talking at length about all sorts of things. Usually, he'd do that with Emmet. But seeing as Emmet isn't here, and not as many people enjoy his rambling in the same way Emmet does, Ingo starts talking to himself a lot instead.
Ingo has started taking care of all Emmet's joltiks
Now for Emmet, I think he and Sneasler would get along really well. I like to think Sneasler is very mischievous and Emmet definitely has a similar energy. She definitely encourages some chaos, but can also go a bit "mom mode" and stop him when he goes overboard. (Aka scruff him like a kitten lol)
Emmet WILL rant to Sneasler about the other wardens, clan politics or whatever. He thinks arguing constantly is a waste of time and generally tunes out or just straight up leaves if warden/clan meetings devolve into arguments.
Emmet and Melli cannot stand each other. Melli removed the torches from Wayward cave ONCE and Emmet has held a grudge since. He goes out of his way to mess with Melli whenever he can.

Decided to make a new and proper reference for Ingo and Emmet for my Wrong Passenger AU!! :] both so I don’t have to use the simple chibis I made when I first came up with this AU but also for ArtFight purposes hehe
Ingo has to deal with two people’s worth of paperwork AND an eel with abandonment issues who is very good at making the biggest and most miserable puppy dog eyes you’ve ever seen (Ingo’s biggest weakness, he’s a huge softie)

I got very attached to the idea of Ingo riding in on Reshiram to help defeat Volo and Giratina in Wrong Passenger AU, haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since the idea originally went through my head :]! Also decided the final confrontation with Volo ends up taking place in the distortion realm (cause I was always a little sad the distortion realm wasn’t visited/used in PLA tbh)
This is also my first time drawing Reshiram!! Honestly pretty happy with how this turned out (˶ˆᗜˆ˵) although the lighting gave me some trouble lol
As promised in my post from yesterday, here's a separate post explaining this AU that's been rotating in my head for like a good month now.
The core aspect of this AU is that Emmet and Ingo switch places. Meaning Emmet is the one who is snatched and brought to Hisui while Ingo remains in the present. But with a little twist :) Ingo still loses his memories and Emmet gets to keep his.
(There's a lot of text so I'm putting the rest of it under the read more hehe ^_^)
I decided to take the premise that a lot of people use for Ingo's disappearance, specifically him going into one of the subway tunnels to check on something. But in this AU Emmet comes with him, because safety in numbers and stuff like that :]. I haven't 100% decided which of them decided Emmet should come along, if it was Emmet himself or if Ingo insisted (because that has some good angst potential).
While doing their sweep of the tunnel, a rift opens behind Ingo, which he is completely oblivious to. Emmet sees it forming and only just manages to see something reaching out to grab his brother. He ends up rushing over to roughly shove Ingo out of the way, which leads to Ingo accidentally hitting his head pretty hard (which is why he was bleeding in the drawing from yesterday ^^).
The last thing Ingo sees before Emmet disappears and Ingo loses consciousness is his brother reaching for him, yelling his name and looking absolutely terrified as something grabs him.
This is the only memory he has when he wakes up in the hospital, which is why Ingo remembers his own name :) He doesn't remember who Emmet is at first, just that he's very important to him and that Ingo feels EXTREMELY guilty.
His amnesia in this AU stems from both the hit he took to the head and from seeing Giratina come out of the portal slightly when it grabs Emmet. Giratina is essentially an eldritch horror god nightmare creature, so I feel like his brain would try to make him forget seeing that to protect itself lol. Emmet doesn't get to see Giratina directly because he's turned away from the portal when he's grabbed.
Most of his memories do come back, the amnesia is temporary because he actually has doctors to help him treat it, unlike in Hisui where they. Probably did not have as many good treatment options. But it's a slow and draining process for him and it takes help and prompting from others for him to remember. I feel like a lot of his memories, especially from his childhood, he'd probably only be able to recall if Emmet helps him. His friends and family help, but it's not quite enough for some things. The only memory he cannot recall no matter what, is what happened to Emmet. He only remembers him screaming and reaching for him, that's it.
The search for Emmet reaches a standstill in this AU, most of Unova has already been searched without a trace. Ingo is the only person who witnessed what happened and until he recovers his memory of the event they can't really make any progress. Which makes Ingo feel extremely guilty. He tries very hard to remember, but it feels like there's some kind of blockade in his brain. All fighting it ever does is give him horrible migraines.
In this AU Ingo kinda ends up doing something similar to what Emmet does in a lot of people's fics, where he takes on the full responsibility of running the subway while also looking for clues as to where Emmet could be. He also struggles with that extra heap of guilt, both because he sees Emmet going with him that night as his fault and because of his faulty memory. If he could just remember, surely that would bring Emmet back.
Emmet on the other hand ends up in Hisui, his memories are intact but he has absolutely no idea where he is and he doesn't have his Pokemon. He ends up in the Coronet Highlands and just kinda wanders for a while. He stumbles upon a very young Sneasel kit being attacked by a Luxio and protects it, getting pretty injured in the process. He specifically wraps the sneasel in his coat because it's made to protect against pokemon moves.
Turns out that Sneasel was one of Lady Sneasler's kits and she comes to the rescue! She's very happy that Emmet saved her kit but realizes very quickly that he's injured and brings him to the pearl clan to get medical treatment. Here, Emmet finally realizes that he's... Verrry far from home.
For a little while after having the realization that he's stuck in the past, Emmet is unsure what to do and spirals a little bit. The pearl clan have allowed him to stay with them since Sneasler took a liking to him after saving her kit. Emmet overhears someone from the pearl clan mentioning the Almighty Sinnoh and he remembers something vaguely about a legendary Pokemon from Sinnoh having dominion over time. My interpretation of Emmet is kinda like an unstoppable force, as long as he has a goal to work towards. He just needs to find someone who knows a lot about Sinnoh legends and then surely he can go home!
Emmet is offered the position as Sneasler's warden (or well, more like Sneasler just kinda decides "this train guy is cool he's mine now") which he accepts. It'll help him in his search. Plus he likes Sneasler, she's fun.
Emmet probably ends up meeting Volo after a while. He does not trust him in the slightest, he can recognize a fake smile when he sees one. But Volo is the first one who sounds like he could probably have some answers, so Emmet reluctantly keeps in contact with him every now and then. He’s not aware of what Volo wants, just that he needs to be careful. I'm unsure to what extent the two work together and for how long, but by the time the plot of PLA happens the two have stopped working together.
The regular events of PLA end up happening, just where Emmet takes Ingo's place instead :] I haven't ironed out the later details too much yet, I was mostly focused on Emmet's disappearance and the years leading up to the plot of PLA.
I've also made a Hisui team for Emmet! It's still subject to change, but so far I have: Crobat (his ace), Roserade, Garchomp, Luxray (which is actually the Luxio he meets when he first gets to Hisui!), Scizor and Rampardos.
Brief design notes for Ingo and Emmet:
For Emmet - I wanted to keep his design unique so he didn't just become Warden Ingo but with a white coat, yknow? I think Emmet is a bit more particular about the state of his clothes than Ingo is, he has to be conscious of the state of his clothes a lot more since he wears white all the time. I also gave him a little gear station bangle :] I like to think he made it himself as a reminder of what he's working to get back to.
For Ingo - I wanted to alter his outfit a bit too and add some white as a remembrance to Emmet. It is a little tough to add white details to Ingo's design, compared to adding black details to Emmet's, since Ingo already has quite a bit of white in his design. I was contemplating giving Ingo one of Emmet's spare hats for a bit, but felt like it would be a bit too much.
Last few disconnected notes that don't really go anywhere: the timeline for this AU is that Emmet is in Hisui for approximately 3-4 years. It will have a happy ending, because I'm incapable of making stories that don't end happily. Ingo really goes through it in this one... Sorry buddy. Also there wont really be any shipping stuff in this AU, aside from Elesa and Skyla, but they're not really the main focus in this lol.
