There's just a few things that need to happen first. . .

One of those things being for Leo to stop being a coward, put on his big boy pants, and allow himself to fall in love again. Though in his defense, establishing intimate relationships during the apocalypse wasn't exactly Paris.

Did Leo have an Usagi back in his dimension that died and now he is a sad widowed boy Twink?

If Mikey has an Usagi in his dimension wouldn't he technically be younger?

Or does a random rabbit just fall out of a portal cuz honestly that's awesome.

There was indeed a Yuichi Usagi in Leo's timeline, yes. (As well as a Miyamoto Usagi.)

Nardo had heard stories and rumors about a rabbit samurai among the clans of what was once known as the Midwestern United States.

And while Leonardo and the others in the Resistance had interacted with the clans in that area on occasion, (mostly for trading and alliance reasons,) he and Usagi never actually crossed paths.

When it comes to Usagi and Leo's ages, I've had to tweak a few things to close the gap, because I'm a sucker for old men yaoi and I wanted them to be closer in age TwT

Leonardo was born in 2005, making him 16 when the Kraang first invaded, and somewhere in his late 30's when coming to Mikey's timeline. (The timestamp in Mikey's timeline is in the year 2021.)

Usagi was born 1984; that makes him 37 years old in Mikey's timeline.

I'd always planned for him to be that old. What's funny is that I looked up when the character, Miyamoto Usagi, was created, and it ended up being in November of 1984. Literally making his freaking descendant the age I wanted him to be in the first place XD

So the two lovebirds are only a couple years apart.

i can't for the life of me remember if I already asked this question but, would the Usagi who Leo eventually gets together with be from Mikey's timeline? Cuz if so wouldn't that also make him a teenager? or did Mikey pull him out of another doomed timeline? or is he just an adult like Leo in Mikey's timeline? I'm very curious because when I saw a post with Leo and Usagi I was like "yay! leosagi is canon in this au!" but then my mind wondered and I was like "waiiittt, how would that work?" anyways I absolutely love your au and your art, I think it's super creative and I just absolutely adore it :)
