Not feeling guilty about leaving all the luggage in the car
It’s Thursday, or approximately 4 days after the World’s Toughest Mudder. AKA the most insane and difficult thing I have ever done in my life. And I feel alright!
There is still some lingering, but very minimal right foot pain. So minimal it probably isn’t worth mentioning. Other than that I am all healed up and feeling 100%. Part of me thinks that this means I didn’t push myself enough last weekend, but the other part of me is thankful I am injury free and am able to get back to running so soon.
Of course my whole body was tight, tired, and sore right after the event. I could walk around just fine, but my quads were extra tight which made getting up and down stairs quite difficult. That 800 feet of elevation change per lap (so 4000 feet up and 4000 feet down total) really took a toll on my legs.
A weird injury I had, but is better now is my mouth really really hurt. All those pretzel sticks and ritz crackers scratched the top of my mouth something fierce. Some cold liquids and sucking on ice cubes helped the swelling go down for the past few days and I am back to normal.
I suppose I am just really lucky my body does so well to recover on its own. I didn’t need any ice packs, massages, foam rollers, animal sacrifices, magical herbs, or mystic spells. Just boring rest, stretching, and walking. I didn’t even eat any aspirin.
