this is probably the most accurate geographic map of the us: http://www.aapsm.org/members-midwest.html (somehow that was a google images top result). you get some hits like chicago/illinois, michigan, and certain parts of ohio but then there's the unthinkable concept of Iowa like is des moines really real? unlikely.

i’d like to file a complaint, there is literally nothing “West” about the midwest lmfao

basically since most of the us population lives like ~100miles from the border, the midwest is The Big Empty in the middle of the country

ok i have to say, as an american who default assumes way too many celebs are american when they aren't, i DID know keanu reeves was canadian and i'm truly astonished
