Before them stood the accumulation of the neighborhood's wrath and negativity turned into what's known as an onryo, taking physical form, one that's tied to her own negativity due to what she's gone through at school. The enemy was strong, however it held one glaring weakness, and that was Kurai's life. Should she fall, this powerful creature would follow as her life was tied to this creature.

Kurai begged and pleaded while offering her life in his hands. Slay one and save thousands. The math is simple, the dilemma was easy..and yet he refuses. Rover gently took her hands and held it tenderly within his own, looking down at her with a smile on his face. "Your life isn't meaningless..you're young with so much ahead of you. I will take care of this threat (a beastly woman like demon standing above ten feet) and keep your life in tact."

The smile on his face brightens as his left eye begins to change, going from its usual amber hue and changing into a soft azure. "This isn't where you're story end..in fact it's only getting started."

"I-I don't get it.... I-I don't get you!! Why are you so nice to me? Why do you care?!" Why couldn't she have met him a little bit earlier? If only she met someone as kind as him sooner... Maybe she wouldn't have become host to this monster that threatened to destroy so many innocent lives.

But she couldn't do anything to stop it. She was weak, pathetic, a shadow that was nothing but an overcast on others lives. And yet Rover treated her differently. He saw through her darkness and pulled her out into the light to share it's warmth with her without expecting anything in return. If only he hadn't given her a taste of hope maybe she wouldn't be so scared to die.

"I-I do-don't deserve your kindness..." She sobs as he gently held her hands. They were trembling before she finally manages to look him in the eyes. "P-please Ro-rover.... I-I don't wanna die."

"Good grief..what does it say about me if I've checked soo much. If only I knew what your work is..that classified information is all that's keeping me from a perfect score. Now..about those love letters...does great penmanship throw you off?"

“Aren’t you rather cute? You’ve already knocked every other competitor out of the park.” She was kidding, of course—even with the way her voice remained the same, sultry tone it always had, her eyes doing most of the communicating of the undertones; looking him up and down, enjoying the way his nature appeared to submit to her. “I’m a criminal, Rover. The work I do isn’t cut out for most romances to prevail.”

Sure, a lot of dynamics could be born from it, but none were necessarily healthy because of it. Not that it ever mattered to her. Consenting adults can do as they want. Get as nasty as they want. “The talent of penmanship should be appreciated no matter the form it takes, don’t you agree?”

When Rover talked to her, she looked up from where she was kneeling - in the middle of her garden, weeding a flower bed. Her hand tapped against her sun hat so she could see his face. "Hm? Your past?" She threw the weeds she'd already collected into the small bucket next to her and stood up, stretching a little.

"Why? Are you worried?" 𝔖𝔢𝔯𝔞𝔭𝔥𝔦𝔫𝔞 tilted her head and examined his face. Truthfully, she wasn't too sure what he meant exactly by 'his past'. Him being a hero? Or that the great evil he's been fighting would come for him? Whatever it was, it made no difference to her.

Smiling, she shook her head. "I'm not worried. If anyone comes for you, we can just beat them up. Easy as pie." With her garden gloves, she gave him an enthusiastic thumbs up. "I'll protect you, baby."

"It's alright," Cygnus spoke softly as she holds his body in her arms. "I've got you." The angel was gentle as she stroked her fingers through his hair. Even if he couldn't remember her she hoped at least this act would feel familiar to him. "I'm sorry I'm late but I'm here now just like I promised." As she spoke she instinctively summoned a blade to block the attack from the discord.

"You may not remember me but that's ok, no matter what I will always be by your side...." She deflects and pushes back the monster before a series of golden spears appear in the sky and for just a moment her body turns white with golden scars littering her body. "Through the endless sea of stars and to the very end of time." Once the powerful entity was slain her appearance returns to normal and she lets out a small sigh.

"Are you ok? They didn't hurt you did they?"

They believe him to be a spy or a hunter trying to kill their eternal summer (titania) But she did not see malice in his soul.

"You are fighting against an entity that thirsts for nothing but destruction. How do you expect to beat destruction itself?"
