Hey is that’s something folks want then I’m happy to oblige! Should I just put it all in the one place?

I can start with the totally AU scene that spins off Steve leaning about Bucky and Karpov in a way less horrible way (and promptly losing all of his chill in a very NC-17 way)

How come you ended up writing an AU of your own fic? Was it because it's been such a long process for you? As in, do you ever wish things had gone differently in TMOTB so that things would have been different also in WWNC? Or maybe you had more to say about these characters?

(Either way I'm so happy it happened!!! I'm loving Paperclips already!)

I’m pretty happy with what happens in MOTB so it’s not so much wishing I could change those events as it is wishing I could change ALL the events and give Steve and Bucky a happy ending that didn’t involve 70 extra years of trauma.

There’s also the fact that my brain mostly considers the events that lead up to MOTB (so WWIC and the one shots) to be my personal canon, but that occasionally I want to explore different options.

@ink-phoenix keeps poking me to post all the one shot AUs and cut scenes because there are SO MANY OF THEM.

Hi !! I have a question (actually 2) about MOTB . first, where is lukin? I feel like I literally DEVOURED the fic to the point I might have missed some bits and bops, but I went to check few days ago and realised that he's not actually dead, is he? Will we see him again?

Number 2: we know so far that Howard was involved in the WS program (though we don't know exactly how), my question is, what about Peggy though? Will that be ever explained?

Also, little comment but how heartbreaking is to know that Howard definitely knew the Winter Soldier was Bucky after the past 2 chapter of WWIC :(

Ah! Lukin. Yeah, funny thing with him... he's very much still out there and he's going to make a rather unwelcome reappearance in the not-so-distant future. One of the things that's come with with MOTB is that it was written several years before Civil War and thus predates the trigger words that CW establishes. Trying to find a way to work that plotline back in to the story, especially as Tony is in possession of so much footage from Bucky's time with HYDRA, has been a bit of a headache, but I think I got it! So yeah, you'll be seeing him soon enough. He's long overdue a good anvil to the face.

As for Howard... no one actually knows the full story with Howard yet. Not the reader, and certainly not Tony or Bucky. There's a standalone coming after WWIC that's going to fill in a lot of the blanks between the end of the war and 1991. Let's just say there's more than one occasion where a different choice or missed opportunity would have led to a very different end to the Winter Soldier programme. That whole story is from Dugan's POV. As for Peggy... that will be answered as well.

One of the things I really love exploring when I'm writing are the consequences of good people (or idk morally neutral people at least) making terrible choices, and why. Howard makes some terrible choices. That's all I'm saying for now :D
