“Do you truly think that’s a good idea?”
“I love seeing everyone in their costumes. It’s so whimsical in here, I never want the night to end!”
“I-” Marlene had opened her mouth with the hopes that a quick & witty response would come off the fly as per usual. But as she looked at the scene before her, her mind went blank. “I... I honestly don’t know what to say right now. & I’ll be the first to admit that’s probably a first for me.”
“Are first years getting smaller & smaller?” Fawley let out an exasperated sigh. “I almost stepped on one before he scurried away. I swear I didn’t even see him! They’re like little mice... all small &... rodent like...”
Caiden had been one of the first ones to the library, ready to help with any of the injured. As soon as he knew where a base was being set up he booked it there, his skills were more for support than direct combat. It looked like the proffessors and aurors had it under control, however part of him was still in shock. How could something like this happen? That’s when someone caught his eye, “hey, that cut looks pretty bad. I can help with that if you’d like me to?”
Darkness had fallen on Hogsmeade and he guessed it had to be nearly eight or nine o’clock. He hated getting called out late at night, having to leave Molly home with their babies. But, he was the Head of the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Department and he didn’t feel it fair to make anyone else go out this late. Luckily, it hadn’t been a hard one to deal with. Someone had stuck a few firecrackers in a loo and by the time he had gotten there he just had to make sure they had all been properly extinguished before tossing them away. A nice butterbeer sounded good and in his haste to The Three Broomsticks he ran straight into someone, knocking them down at his feet. He leaned over, quick to hold out his hand, “Sorry, about that!” Eyeing them for a moment, he arched a brow, recognizing the person. “What exactly are you doing here this late?”
Frank laughed softly, raising an eyebrow as the student next to him walked into the great hall. “That’s some costume.”

Adriane was reading the envelope that Onyx had sent her. A hand went to stroke under his chin as she glanced at the envelope on her lap. It was a forwarded letter from her father - sent to her house in London that her mom had forwarded to Hogwarts.
She didn’t want to open it. She had no need to hear her fathers half hearted apologies about her childhood. With a careless toss to the ground - she raised her wand. “Incendio” she spoke - the tip of her wand pointed at the letter. Her life was so much better off without him in it.
As Adriane watched the envelope turn to ashes - she didn’t notice the person come up beside her.
