Anyone who takes the time to be kind is beautiful.
Richelle E. Goodrich (via wordsnquotes)
callmeregulus:
Regulus nodded at her suggestion. It made sense to take it slowly. He didn’t want to get drunk and then do something stupid that he’d regret later. “Oh…um…no, actually. I’m a terrible dancer.”
“I highly doubt that. No one can be a terrible dancer. You just have to let the music take control of your body.” She did a small twirl as a demonstration. “And even if you are, I don’t think anyone will be paying attention.”
amycus-cxrrow:
“Oh dear, we couldn’t have that,” he deadpanned, “let’s make haste to prevent it.”
“It wouldn’t end up being a fun night for either of us.” She laughed lightly, moving towards the kitchens and navigating the darkness. “I know the quickest way. It’s not my first time sneaking into the kitchens at this time.” It was actually something she did more often than she wanted to admit.
daringheart:
He laughed lightly, shaking his head, “I’ll tell you what, if there’s a slow song I’ll dance with you for that,” he promised. For one thing he doubted there would be a slow song and for a second, slow dancing was much more in his comfort zone. “Not dancing.”
Izzie nodded her head, a bright smile spreading on her face. “Deal.” She would have to make sure to find him if a slow song ever came on. She gave a laugh at his answer, “Well, what then?”
eriszabini:
Eris held on to Izzie’s arm even when the younger girl tried to push her away. “It’s okay, it’s just me.” she said, calmly but loud enough so that she would hear her. Reaching the edge of the room, she scanned the hallway. “I don’t know… Maybe with everyone so focused on the party they were able to get in… or..” Or someone let them in. She shook her head. “We get to the door, and then we head for the library. That’s where they’re gathering everyone.”
“I’m so glad it’s you.” She whispered, doubting the other girl would even hear her. She had always admired Eris, looked up to her and viewed her as something of a sister. Even though she was friends with most of the people in this school, there were very few she would have wanted to see at this moment, but Eris was one of the ones she trusted above others. She nodded her head, not actually wanting to focus on the horrors of how the masked men and women had invaded the school. “Eris, I’m not sure I can make it. I’m scared.”
I think success right now is not about how famous you are or how much you’re getting paid, but it’s more about if you’re steadily working and you’re happy with what you’re doing.
eriszabini:
Only an idiot would have stepped back into the chaos that was happening in the Great Hall, but Eris had caught sight of Isabella - and she was standing still - not moving. Probably frozen with fear. She ran back over towards her, taking the younger girl’s arm. “Hey, listen, come with me!” she said, taking her hand and leading her towards the edge of the room.
Izzie wanted to move, she just couldn’t. Her body and her mind weren’t working together and she was sure that if she continued watching the chaos erupt around her she might very well faint. When she first felt the pull, she screamed, trying to yank her arm away out of fear until she turned her head to see Eris. She took a deep breath, nodding and following her to the edge of the room. “How is this even possible?” She shouted over the noises, “How are we going to get out?”
daringheart:
He laughed softly, shaking his head, “I don’t think that will happen, Isabella, this sort of thing isn’t exactly my favourite activity.”
Izzie understood that these kind of gatherings weren’t everyone’s forte, but she still smiled. “I still want to make you dance with me for at least one song.” That would be her goal for the night. “What are your favorite activities?”
alcto-crrw:
“I’ve been alright. Definitely not complaining this excuse to relax,” she replied honestly, “You?”
“I’ve been wonderful!” She really had a lot to be thankful for. Her friends, Ollie, and the endless stream of essays had kept her busy most of the time and busy was something she liked to be. “Excited for break, though! It’ll be good to get to go home and see everyone!” Only another month and a half and she would be able to see her brother and parents again.
malfoyisthename:
“Good, fear keeps you alive,” He said as he moved over to her and took her hand, “Come on, we need to get you out of here,” He said as he looked around, there wasn’t many Deatheaters left, but there was a lot of chaos, children running around like it was the apocalypse, what did they teach here now? Honestly. “Don’t worry, while I’m here you’ll be safe.”
Izzie breathed a sigh of relief, glad that Lucius was here. They weren’t particularly close, but he was friends with her brother and she trusted him. “Thank you.” Her voice was still barely above a whisper and she wasn’t even sure if he could hear her on account of everyone else screaming. “Why are they here?” In the back of her mind, the part that she didn’t want to acknowledge, she wondered if Joseph was here, if he was one of those underneath the black cloaks and silver masks.
bertramwithabee:
“I am good, a little bit naughty a little bit nice,” He said with a chuckle. “Mostly just… looking around, some people put a lot of effort into their costumes, some not so much,” He said with a laugh.
“Halloween is such a wonderful time!” Izzie had spent a lot of her night doing the same thing as him, staring at people. She always spent the first part of any party watching and admiring. “What is the favorite costume you have seen so far?”
callmeregulus:
“Not sure. It’s just…different than what I’m used to.” He took another sip, trying to decide whether or not he liked it.
“Well, if you don’t normally drink, I would suggest pacing yourself.” She had wished someone had told her that the first time she had drank. It would have made for a lot easier of a night for everyone. “Do you wanna go dance?”
amycus-cxrrow:
“It has the advantage of being an unusual idea” Amycus agreed, “I’ll help. But my question is, do you think you can go all night without eating?”
Izzie gave a soft laugh, “I’m actually not sure that I could go an entire night without eating. I can try! But, don’t blame me if I start getting crabby without any food.”

Cas knew that much harm couldn’t happen within the castles, there were too many spells and other protections in place. The aurors, however, meant that there was a reason to worry about being within the walls. Unless it was a ministry show of power, in which case, seemed fairly pointless. Scaring school children? That took away people from the front lines, where they were needed. The world is changing. She thought to herself.
If America was different in one way (there were many, but in the ways it counted), it was that the magical world was much smaller and it was easier to keep a watch on those with “dangerous” ideas. You would know if someone was against what your family believed. Over here, one could guess, but that didn’t come without making assumptions. Ones she didn’t want to make without some hard evidence.
Cas let out a light chuckle at Izzie’s exclamation, “I agree, if one doesn’t wander one doesn’t have stories to tell, and what else are you going to talk about at the family dinners?”
She knew that answer very well, but that was a situation for another day, “I can’t say as I’ve made friends with them. Seeing the elves is always an odd experience.”
House elves were uncommon in America, and to her it was uncomfortable to know that they had no choice in employers or how they’re treated. They seemed happy at the very least, but looks could always be deceiving. She gave a non committal hum to the stress comment, best to keep things light for now.
After watching the cat run off, Cas stood up and stretched, “shall we?”
Izzie loved going on adventures, whether they were inside the castle or not. Though, she was aware how much more dangerous the ones outside of the castle would be, now. There had always been an intriguing factor to her of never knowing where the night might end up or what was going to happen next. She knew others hated that feeling, but it gave her a rush of adrenaline unlike anything else.
“I already have quite a few stories to tell when I go back home for the holidays.” She kept a book, hidden in between the mattress, full of the things she wanted to make sure she remembered. She tried to write at least one thing a day, if not more and had already sent an owl to her mum asking for another one because hers was getting full. “Speaking of the holidays, do you normally travel home or do you stay here?” Izzie had always thought of staying, not because she didn’t want to see her family, but just to see what it was like to be in Hogwarts without having classes going on.
She thought for a moment about Cas’ response to the elves. She knew that a lot of people who hadn’t grown up with them, weren’t sure what to make of them. Personally, Izzie liked to make friends with the elves and other creatures. But, she had seen them since she was just a babe and had grown very fond of them. She knew some were mistreated in their homes and she truly felt bad and disgusted at the thought, but she knew the others seemed to enjoy what they did.
“Yes, we shall! My stomach is already growling just at the thought of food.” She said with a laugh, making her way across the common room.
amycus-cxrrow:
“We’re camping?” He exclaimed, “but… you know what? Why not?”
“Of course, we are! An all nighter outside of the castle, one of the grandest ideas I think I have ever had!” She smiled, “So, shall we some snacks? Or are you going to have me go all evening with nothing to eat?”
daringheart:
“Yeah, it’s alright I guess.”
“Only alright? Well, we must change that! By the end of the night, I want to have you saying that it is one you will never forget!”
