Caiden had been one of the first ones to the library, ready to help with any of the injured. As soon as he knew where a base was being set up he booked it there, his skills were more for support than direct combat. It looked like the proffessors and aurors had it under control, however part of him was still in shock. How could something like this happen? That’s when someone caught his eye, “hey, that cut looks pretty bad. I can help with that if you’d like me to?”

Frank laughed softly, raising an eyebrow as the student next to him walked into the great hall. “That’s some costume.”

“What? No, I wasn’t scared. Not at all.” Alice laughed.

Cas had been on her way back to her dorm, when she saw the lights go out in the Great Hall. Part of her was curious to see what the main event was, but honestly she had enough of the party. She turned back around to continue heading back when she smelled smoke and heard the screams. Almost immediately she sprinted back in the direction she came, and couldn’t make heads or tails of what she saw. Was the castle was under attack? Someone bumped into her, “hey! What’s going on?”

Halloween is always an exciting time of year in the Hogwarts castle as decorations line the halls and the Halloween feast is held. Every year the students and teachers alike get very excited for the festivities and celebrations but this year will be a little different than before.

Halloween is quickly approaching in the Hogwarts castle and to celebrate Dumbledore has organised a party for the older students. With more stresses on the students than ever before with the ever encroaching war, he has decided to have a fun night to give something for the students to look forward to.

On Halloween night after the feast, the Great Hall will be transformed for a party to be held an hour later. The students in fourth year and above are invited and encouraged to dress up and join the party at 8pm on Sunday the 31st. Prizes will be awarded on the night for the best dressed. There will be no classes the following day for any students but they will begin again as normal on Tuesday.

So Halloween is around the corner for our characters and we think it needs a celebration! The party will begin on the 28th of August (real time) and will go on until the 3rd of September. Tag any starters/outfits or anything else with wwrevent and wwrhallowen76. The event hasn’t started yet but you can start planning your characters costume until then, posting it under the same tag. The costume party is open to everyone and the characters with the two best costumes will win house points for their house.

As always you do not have to participate in this event but it is encouraged and you never know what might happen as the party goes on…

As the party began to come to an end, a strange darkness fell over the Hall. At first, many students thought it was all part of festivities. But when the room was illuminated once again, it was by a spell of fire igniting one of the tables

Students began to scream and panic filled the room as three dark figures encroached the edges of the hall. Professors began evacuating everyone, aurors quickly coming to the defense of the school. 

But as the students began scrambling to leave, they couldn’t avoid the reality that they were faced with.

Hogwarts was not impenetrable. 

The Death Eaters were here.

The Halloween Party event is officially finished and a new surprise event has begun. We ask that no new threads about the Halloween party are started, however, you may continue any threads you already have.

Three Death Eaters appeared in the Great Hall at the end of the Halloween Party. They did not attack students, but rather intended to scare them by spreading fires and destroying tables and other objects. Aurors engaged in defending the students from any possible harm, but after causing some destruction, the Death Eaters escaped. 

Students may have sustained minor injuries from fire or debris, but they were not involved in any fighting - both professors and aurors preventing any particularly brave (or foolish) students from doing so.  They were evacuated from the Great Hall to the library, where impromptu sleeping arrangements have been set up. Here the teachers can do a head count and monitor all students to ensure their safety.

The event starts immediately, and should be tagged with wwrevent and wwrhalloweenattack. Threads can span from when the attack starts to being held overnight at the library. The event will last until the 15th September, after which no new threads should be started involving the event. However students can (and likely should) still be dealing with the aftermath once the event has finished.

Amycus’ legs were trembling, the fire seemed to leap out at him. He tried to swallow his panic. Right now, that could kill him. He was sure the Death Eaters would leave him alone, he’s a pureblood and an heir. Still that didn’t stop him from fearing the worst: a rogue spell, an unlucky blow by debris, the fire. Finally he was able to get his feet under him, there weren’t an students in his immediate vicinity. Not that he would’ve helped them, he only had one person on his mind. His sister. He had to find her. “Alecto!” He screamed over the battle, “Alecto! Answer me!”
