Why?

Why Disney? Why give up a semester? Why waste your time? Why not get a grown up job? What’s the point? Why Florida? What’s so special about it? How old are you?

I don’t know about you but these are the questions I am asked every time I tell someone I am moving to Florida for the Disney College Program. I am flooded with questions and at first I took it as curiosity but lately it has been in a rude manor/ in a judgmental way. So here are my answers… Why Disney? Disney is the most amazing place I have ever been it is truly magical there is not a worry in the world there. Disney is my second home growing up I had everything I would need but I was very sheltered Disney was all I knew I don’t watch scary movies, R- rated movies, I never said a bad word, Never disrespected my parents, I was home at 9 every night, Never spent the night at people’s houses, you get the picture Disney is my life! My life was changed by one man and one mouse and I want to pass that on to as many people as I can. 

Why give up a semester you ask why not? This program is a huge opportunity it’s a chance of a lifetime 5,000 people get chosen out of 38,000 applicants this is huge. Why waste my time? You may see it as wasting time but me I think it’s a once in a lifetime chance. Why don’t you get a grown up job? You are saying that a fortune 500 company is not grown up enough for you. If you say the word Disney everyone knows what it is they might not like Disney but they have heard of it.

One man’s dream became a reality and my dream became a reality with the Disney College Program.  People can talk and people can judge me all they want I am a 22 year old college who is going to be working at the most magical place on earth until they tell me I have to go home. I want to live my life to the fullest and I know getting a degree is a big part of that and one day I will graduate but living, learning, and earning is an opportunity I will not take that for granted.

Accepted/ Auditions

ACCEPTED

Yay I am all signed up fees paid date is picked and now I play the waiting game I have 153 days!!!! I am so excited for what the program has to offer as well as meeting all my new amazing roommates we are looking for one more but we talk almost everyday now and we all get along perfectly we all like to go out and have a good time but we all like nights in as well... we dont know who is staying in which rooms but we all decided we wanted to wait till we had all 6 of us. These girls are going to be my best friends for the next 7 months and way after that because we all want to extend our program or at least we are thinking about it and see where this amazing company can take up so who knows we might even live together longer then just in the fall! 

AUDITIONS 

So My friend and I went to auditions in Columbus Ohio it was so much  fun and we met so many wonderful people and had a blast we learned a quick little 2 eight count Pom/Jazz routine and everything went pretty fast after that they picked 20 people from the original 178 and we packed up and went home although we didnt make it we are still going to audition as much as possible and not worry about making it or not because the experience is so worth it. Make sure you are friendly and meet as many people as you can because even if you get cut you never know how far they will go... DCP family2014
