hey!! firstly please take as much time as you need to finish this darling! and enjoy your holidays 💓 could I ask for mista, bruno, leone and hermes trying to coax their sick s/o to take some goddamn rest bc its probably not natural to be as lethargic and disorientated as they are but they are too stubborn to give it a rest!! they want to keep working!!! (my glandular fever might be making a surprise visit to ruin my holiday season nat help me 🙃)
sorry this is so late! i hope that glandular fever did NOT return, but if it did:
Mista is blunt with his desire to get you to lie down and take a nap for once in your life. He’s not so good at coaching words gently or fixing his wheedling up fancily, but he is good-hearted and kind and he only wants the best for you - and he isn’t the kind to give up. If you refuse, he’ll keep insisting, and eventually - in your disorientated state - you’ll do it just to get some peace and quiet. He sits with you to make sure you don’t worry yourself, probably talking inanely - and the sound of his voice soothes you into comforting, restful dreams.
Bruno coaches his steel in velvet. He’s usually regarded as kind by his subordinates and the people who love him, but that does not mean that he’s a pushover. When he comes to tell you that you need some time to rest, his face is very stern, and your protests die in your throat. For all of Bruno’s sweetness, you cannot forget that he is a notorious gangster. You meekly accept his firm direction to your bed, and you accept the soup he brings you and the music he plays and the way he strokes your hair until everything fades to black around you,
Abbacchio might come across as mean-spirited and harsh, but part of that is in his own fear of how much he actually cares about the people he does deem worthy of his time. He’s sharp with his tongue when he chastises you for not taking better care of yourself, but there’s a undercurrent of hurt and frantic worry in his voice. It’s not until he does break down, his face crumbling as you wrest yourself away from his arm to go and try to do some bit of work or other, that you realise that you’re breaking him apart. And then, sheepishly, you accept his gruff but well-meaning care.
Hermes does not pull her punches. She will tell you if you’re not looking well; she will tell you that all of your work will be for nothing if it’s illegible the next day. She might shout at you or lose her temper, but it’s because she cares about you so deeply. She can sometimes be rude or crass or hot-headed - but beneath that, she loves you, and she wants you to sit down and rest! Eventually, she physically drags you into bed, ignoring your sleepy complaints and your insistence on finishing everything you’re supposed to - and your exhausted body, cradled by her warmth, gives up and you rest.
