There were some stubborn people in the world, Yoona knew that pretty well. But she had never met a stubborn soul like Yook Junjae. No matter how rude Yoona may have come off, no matter how short she was with him, no matter what she said or did, he always came back with a bright smile on his face and kindness in his heart.

Naturally, Yoona grew fond of him, wondering how such a person existed in this world and why there wasn’t people like him on her side when she was younger. But those thoughts she refused to let linger for long, since they always seemed to bring her down and bring out a bitter, dark side to her that she didn’t like to face.

They had met up at a cafe, planning a simple visit to talk, drink some coffee and just try and have a good time, but this cafe also offered something else--cats. 

Yoona had never had a pet before, although she had always wanted one, and the idea of a cat cafe that was so close to home brought out excitement in her that made her want to visit it as soon as possible. She hadn’t known about its existence until Junjae had brought it up, and she was weary on believing such a place actually existed until she had shown up.

“Look at this one, it keeps rubbing against my leg,” Yoona said, bending over to scratch the top of a black and white tabby cat’s head. “What was its name again? It’s cute...I don’t know why it likes me so much, but I’m flattered.”

Yoona sat up straight again to face Junjae. “How are things with you, Junjae? Are you well?”

A groan escaped Lian’s lips as she threw herself back, lying down on a wooden skid and hoping she wouldn’t end up with pieces of wood in her hair. Lian enjoyed her work, but it was always the people who would make it or break it and when it got rough, the hours would drag on by. A minute felt like an hour and the more you checked the time, the slower it seemed to crawl. But she had eventually managed to make it to the end.

A groan escaped from her again, although this time it was more so a growl from her stomach, indicating and reminding her that she had not yet eaten and her hands went to her belly, as though this gesture would somehow silence the noise. Of course it didn’t.

Lian knew the docks were busy, no one would notice her until they needed the skid she had so gracefully claimed as her own, sprawled out like a starfish, but she couldn’t help but to feel a little embarrassed anyway and sat up a little, just enough to look around and check her surroundings.

“Huh?” she said, her gaze catching something that was both familiar and yet, unfamiliar. Or at least, unfamiliar in that setting, because it wasn’t usually there. “Junjae?” she said, her brows knitted together as he came closer, making it clear that it was him but her mind working oh so slowly to process this. “Is that you? What are you doing here?”

          Frequent visits to the gym allowed him to make a lot more friends than he had intended to. many of which were familiar faces that he had seen in between his sessions at the gym but had never had the opportunity to formally meet up until now. a basketball in his hand as he prepares to play a game against @wyjunjae​, someone he had only recently met but sparked great interest in what they both do. he bounces the ball a few times, waiting for the other to finish off whatever he was doing. basketball hadn’t always been something haneul wanted to pursue, perhaps it was the defiance that ran in his veins, an intricate maze of cerulean vessels that fuelled him with a certain type of determination. having abandoned music, leaving it all behind.

the gradual increase of music, blaring through the speakers of the room next to their court, catches his attention, withdrawing from his reverie as he turns to face the other. his head moves to tilt, ❝ i remember you said you dance? ❞

He’s never been in an arcade before and if he’s entirely honest, he doesn’t know why he’s decided to even set foot in one today. Classes had been long and draining -- Hoseok has no reason to be around people for longer than he has to when he could just go home and catch his breath. But that’s exactly it, isn’t it? He doesn’t have a home; not really, anyway. His foster parents’ place is the closest thing he has to one -- it’s where he keeps most of his stuff, because his dorm doesn’t consist of much more than a bunk bed and a little bit of closet space.

The brunet isn’t proud of his continued dependence on his foster parents. It makes him feel like a child, when one could argue he either had to grow up too fast or never got a chance to grow up RIGHT. He can’t trust anything his father has taught him about life and the memory of his mother is the sadness and distress on her features as her son is guided into the backseat of a car. For his safety. For his own good. He’s never quite understood why his mother had to suffer this much, but he blames himself for it.

The hall is loud and he already regrets his whereabouts. The noise is almost deafening to his sensitive ears, which is laughable because he blasts his music quite loudly through his headphones every day. Maybe it’s because the sounds are unfamiliar and mingle with the chattering and cheering of strangers.

Out. He needs to get out. He’s at the wrong place and not even at the wrong time, because he should know BETTER than to try and pretend he’s normal. He isn’t; he’s anxious and hopeless and broken. There’s a hint of his blind panic in his eyes as he turns to try and rush back out the entrance, body all but slamming into another human being. His eyes widen as he instinctively reaches out to try and steady the other person, though he’s quick to retreat his hand. “S-Sorry. I’m sorry. I’m--” He’s closing up, he can feel it -- curses himself for the way he is as his breathing turns slightly irregular. “I’m... sorry...”

To keep himself busy and not distracted by the constant need to mess with people, Shin got himself a job at the daycare. But as night time comes, the wolf in him begs to come out. Wanting liquor and the taste of luxury once more. The kind of life he had in Seoul, this is why he made a decision to actually get an extra job to keep him pre-occupied at his idle hours. Later that day when he got off of his work, he heads down to a study room where most students pour their heart and soul trying to understand their lessons, hoping that this would at least get them a passing grade or get themselves accepted in their dream school. 

Shin never had that. A dream school or rather, he simply had no dreams while growing up. It was stolen from him by his own brother.

With almost every study cubicle taken, Shin continues to wander around when he notices the male who seemed to be struggling with something. He peers from behind the male and studies what he's been trying to figure out. After a while, he notices the male next to him packing up already. It was almost time for dinner after all, the time when a student should be home already. He takes the unexpected freed up space and tries to pour all his attention on the book, but he just couldn't. Not after seeing what the male has been doing wrong with his own book. He gently taps him. 

“Excuse me.” Bowing with a smile as he finally gets the other's attention. “You should re-read the whole thing before answering- you're going to keep making a mistake if you don't pay extra attention to it.”

The sky finally turns dark as day turns into night. Minah and Jinoh haven't left Samhan yet because the restaurant was a full house that night. Jinoh sits on a high chair at the front desk, greeting guests with reservation while Minah herself greets guests and inquires on how their dinner was. The mother and son duo could've left already, but Minah wanted to make sure that everything runs smoothly. 

The general manager had some emergency so Minah, being the owner, had to step in. Each table was occupied and the VIP rooms are all reserved as well. When the general manager finally turns up at the restaurant, Minah assures her employee that it was all okay and she has nothing to worry about. Minah excuses herself and returns to the front desk and cashier where Jinoh was seated. A familiar face brings a smile on her lips. 

“Hi, kiddo.” She teases the male. “How long have you been here, huh? Did I make you wait?” She asks, worried that he had some important business to attend to and Minah just so happens to turn up to the desk pretty late. Placing her hands on her waist, she looks at Junjae and Jinoh. Junjae was probably the only non-employee that gets to sit at the front desk because of Jinoh. To the 3-year-old, the teenager was like an older brother to him. Someone who took his time to befriend him even when he was being very shy then. 

“I'd offer to treat you for dinner but-” Minah turns to look at the tables. All were occupied and they still have reservations for the evening. “as you can see, it's a full house.” Grinning widely. She sure is proud to call Samhan her own. Even if she did inherit it on behalf of her late husband. 

“Do you need a ride back home? You can join us for dinner at home if you want.” They both live at Ninetree apartments, so it wasn't like giving him a ride would be out of the way. He was always welcome to come over and play with Jinoh. It may be odd for a teenager to befriend a child, but they sure know how to have fun on their own together.
