ah!! I should clarify!!! no need for goodbyes!!!

Frisk can see all their friends before / after visiting each new Dark World! Darkners can go into 'Castle Town' freely, and Frisk can go there whenever they like! So while Jevil couldn't accompany Frisk into Chapter 2, he was waiting for them in Castle Town by the time they purified Cyber City's fountain :) Same with Spamton into Chapter 3 etc etc!
