I had one heck of a dream last night. I don't even know where to begin. In fact I'm not quite sure where it started. :p
It was one of those dreams that kind of just creeps up on you. Or oozes into your current dream (whatever that was).
But I felt like sharing it with you guys anyway. \o/
I do remember the weirdness beginning when Unknown Person and I started our search for a dead body.
No I don't who the dead person was. No I don't why we were looking for them, the reason for looking in the place we did, or even how we came to know they were even dead in the first place.
The story begins, or should I say, the point of my awareness begins with us jumping through a portal to some nondescript location and begin digging around in the dirt. Not with spades or shovels or anything, we just started digging around. . . with our hands I guess. Buried under like a layer of dirt, I uncover something sharp and metal. So I do the sensible thing. I grasp the sharp metal object and haul it out. Don't even dig first, I just flip it out onto the ground. This is how I cut my hand and accidentally awaken Saratoshi. Because he turns out to be a giant demon combine harvester that feeds on blood/people. Yes you read that right. A giant, demon, combine harvester. That feeds on blood and/or people.
Saratoshi was a legendary demon in this dream world that terrorised the populace centuries ago before suddenly just disappearing. And it looks like I just unleashed him back on the world again. Oops. Fortunately no one makes mention of the fact that it was I who reawakened him, nor does any blame me for it. No they just act as if he had always been around.
Dream shifts into an indeterminate amount of time later. Unknown Person, Chief Miles O'Brien from Deep Space Nine and I are meeting with Shifty Looking Bloke. What kind of meeting it is, I couldn't say, because we've also brought stuff to exchange/trade.
Shifty Looking Bloke hauls out a stack of fabric. It's a shiny, rich, luscious shade of blue and extremely recognisable. We all stare at him like he's lost his damn mind. Like, "What in the high holy hell do you think you're doing? Bringing that here?" Here referring to the fact that we're in a building in a playground/park or sorts packed with people. The fabric in question happens to belong to Saratoshi. It's not just the fact that he covets it, no, he actually made the stuff himself. Apparently he's also some kind of demon loom? It also has no special qualities, besides bringing Saratoshi down on your head, it's just regular fabric. . . Although it has been around for centuries since he made it before his, er, imprisonment? and it shows no sign of wear and tear. . .
So Miles grabs the stack of fabric and does the sensible thing. He marches straight outside and calls for Saratoshi. Not quite sure how he appears on the scene but the next thing I know.
Loud roaring noise. Whoosh. Saratoshi.
He's twice the size of a regular combine harvester. He looked kind of like Frank from Cars, only terrifying. Miles is tiny in comparison but he talks him down like a goddamn pro.
Miles offers him the fabric. He wants nothing in return, no favours, just for Saratoshi to take the fabric and leave (only not phrased as rudely). Saratoshi is a ridiculously fickle demon who would rather kill you than owe you, so even though Miles is asking for nothing there's still a good chance that Saratoshi will just kill him anyway. :/
Saratoshi makes some comment about his trustworthiness (I don't quite remember what he said).
Miles replies that one such as Saratoshi should be able to discern when someone is lying and tells him to go ahead and see; he's an honest man.
The demon retorts that he's not been entirely forthcoming with the truth (although he's not quite lying perse).
Miles admits that he wishes for Saratoshi to take the cloth and leave but without harming anyone.
Saratoshi is fortunately amused by the whole exchange and does just that.
And that was when I was awoken by the cat. \o/
