In the ages past, when the Phantom Slayer was brought into sentience the spread of the abyss was immense it was known as Dark Blight. The Kingdom of Men was all but a shell of its former glory, rumors spread of Dark Zealots and even unholy entities that resided in the abandoned Castle of the Corrupted King. Towns and villages plunged into darkness, survivors of the first onslaught lost hope and withered or turned on their allies.
Knights and Paladins banded together, their views and manners corrupt by the void; they preyed on the innocent and slaughtered those who opposed them. Their infamy and sudden rise in power, gave them a name to be feared; the group that was now widespread, called themselves the Light’s Forsaken. This group of fallen individuals had caught wind of a mysterious man that wandered the region consumed by the blight; they set out to see who this man was, how he had seemingly appeared from nothing.
Three nights had passed and the group finally track down this man, he was walking in calmly manner whistling an unfamiliar tune. They approached him from behind noticing he was swinging a shining pendulum from his finger; some in the group smiled at each other and took this encounter as one with a good payoff.
A fallen knight approached the man, “Aye, wha’ are ya’ doin’ around these parts?”
The man stopped in place, he had noticed the group since they spotted him two nights ago; with a soft grin he turned around gazing at this knight. “I do with my time as I wish, and seeing as this nation is falling to darkness I’ll go where I want.”
The fallen knight took offense to his words and drew out his sword. Some of the paladins were equipped advanced weaponry that had been infused with magic; the weapons and rifles were modified to channel dark energy, a trait that suited this group. A paladin took aim at the man, and fired a dark bolt; sure of his aim and skill he smiled, as the shot exploded leaving a dark cloud around the man.
The man wafted the cloud of darkness away and gave a slow clap to these brave soldiers; his eyes gave off a faint glow of un-naturalistic color, then with a quick glitch he attacked the knight in front of him. His pendulum began to charge up and glow more brighter, he grasped its energy moving his hand to the knight’s neck. His attack was stopped but not before the light energy shot through the knight’s collarbone and neck, forming into a blade of light.
“Oh, Creator of All, life-giver and guide in darkness. Grant me your strength, and enlighten my mind from the corruption.” The man chanted as the dashed to the other members of the group, the knight fell to the ground succumbing to the burning energy of light that pierced him; just as he reached to grasp the sword, the darkness within him mixed with the light and exploded violently.
The man used this as a diversion, channeling an orb of light into his palm and striking the ground abruptly. The flash of light blinded the fallen soldiers, and when they regained their eyesight they were being attack by more than one. Quickly the squad fell to the barrage of light attacks from this man, as he reached down making sure they died in battle; one by one he closed their eyelids and lined up their bodies.
“Blessed Creator, grant their souls rest and free them from the grasp of darkness.” He prayed before flicking out a spark of light that began to consume and de-materialize the bodies. Nighttime had crept out, and chilling howls echoed all around; the man was passing by the Forest of Nightmares.
Strange and ominous glares stalked him throughout the dark greenery, it seemed as if they melded with the shadows; still the man pressed on, he needn’t to be worried about such creatures. Holding out his pendulum above him, it shined immensely; bathing the area within rays of light and color, the unknown creatures hissed and screeched in pain as they fled.
Deeper in the forest the man was visited by cloaked figures, their pacing and movement was abnormal; while they seemed to be less affected by his light, and walked with him. Almost as if guiding him out of the forest; one of them broke the silence and whispered to the man, “You seem to be lost, oh, Ancient Vanguard. Like alwayssss you carry your heart on you wrist, leave such pleasantries aside and join us just like other one did.” It taunted him and they all laughed wickedly before vanishing into the darkness; he had reached the edge of the forest, and noticed that the Port of Azelia was nearby.
He walked out the forest as a soft echo protruded out from the forest, “Ssspecter…” His gaze turned momentarily to the dark forest, as he was being stared back by a crowd of these creatures and in their midst stood an old enemy. He sighed out gently and turned back heading into the small village untouched by the darkness; finally the sun shattered the cover of nightfall as birds chirped in the distance.
The pendulum that Specter uses is composed of a foreign metal not from our realm, and its inner core is a shard of light and color. Only certain individuals linked to the Specter can wield this weapon/power source, still while it emanates great holy power it will succumb to the fears and doubts of the user. This pendulum is more of a necklace that was crafted to be worn by the great Valkyrie, as it resonated with her strong affinity to the divine.
The pendulum was created within the ancient forge by Specter with the permission from the Creator of All, it’s unique unknown metallic structure allow it to be completely immune to outside corruption and darkness. While if needed could be reshaped and formed with the Specter’s Metallic Conversion ability to be integrated into any type of weapon and armor. The shard within this necklace is more unique and peculiar, as it is not a Piece of Light or any variation of it; yet the shard itself is a piece of the Specter’s heart. With it carrying the properties of his heart at all times, the shard can manifest unnatural amounts of light and color to the aid of its users.
With its power based in light and color it has the ability to materialize weapons of light or even quick light explosions at will from its user; at times it even projects a strong sphere of light around the user to keep it safe from the warping void. It has been a guiding light to the Specter and to others that have used its power as well.
Light’s Chosen : With this passive ability it allows the encasing of the pendulum to be immune to external forces of malice and darkness. Although if exposed to the very corrupting darkness and evil within the user the power it has will falter.
Will of the Avatar of Color : This passive/active ability allows the user of this weapon to channel the very strength of Specter and his bonded allies. Giving the user the abilities to project and materialize weapons and constructs of light.
Sphere of the Divine : Allows the pendulum to emit a strong barrier of sorts around the user to repel creatures and entities of the dark. While also helping to illuminate dark surroundings in the nighttime.
X-Core Transformation : This active ability allows the pendulum/necklace to change from Weapon-Mode to Power-Core-Mode allowing it to be integrated into other weapons and armor. In this Power-Core state it will channel its strength to said weapons/armors it is being used to strengthen; while its only form of attack is when charging all of it’s light energy and emanating it either in a beam or a sphere.
