You can’t tell me that in the year of our lord 2026 it wouldn’t absolutely fuckin’ slap to have a musical movie about an Ancient Greek muse coming to earth in order to inspire a disaffected graphic artist to open a disco roller rink with a has-been musician played by an actual musical legend the way the original had Gene Kelly in there as a rich beach bum trumpet player

Guys I just remembered Xanadu exists and started laughing uncontrollably. I haven’t even seen it but I just started laughing remembering it exists. Then I proceeded to look for some clips and it made it even funnier.

Cringetober Day 6: Musical

Xanadu isn't a great movie but it's one of my favorites. So here's my attempt at Kira... I don't try to adapt live-action people to my style very often but I think I did ok here. She's still recognizable right

This was meant to be more sketchy like my previous entries but I kept rendering so you get a nice piece of art for once lol

Fun fact, I was debating on whether to draw something for Xanadu or Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. That one is also bad, worse in fact lol, but I still love it. It has the Bee Gees! AND Billy Preston!!! But yeah, I did end up doing Xanadu since it's closer to my heart.

Watched the movie Xanadu (1980) today and it would absolutely be better if it were a supernatural horror film where instead of being a Greek Muse, Kira was actually a fae creature trying to encourage disgruntled mortal men into making the nightclub as a way to trap people inside who will live out the rest of their (short) lives dancing and singing in melange of decades/styles until they die. You'd hardly need to change anything.
