Danny rubs his forehead, eyes closed. They want a kid but the agencies are reluctant; they both know why, and Steven's jaw tightens, his mouth pressed together in a hard line of stoic disapproval. Danny sometimes has to stop himself from geting tempermental in the agncy offices; they al ltalk a good game but whne it comes down to it, Danny and Steve wouldn't be good parents, according to them, because of their "lifestyle".
Danny's considered asksing Kono or maybe Cath to be a surrogate. But he can't quiet bring himself to do it; it almost feels wrong to ask one of them to give up thier body for nearly a year so he and Steve can have their baby. And other surrogates are expensive and difficult to find and come with no guarantees.
And then their last case happened. A runaway girl who was presumed dead was found in Hawaii. She claimed to not know how she got there, but it turned out she wastrafficked and escaped when she found out she was pregnant. She didn't want the baby. She was going to give it up foradoption. Danny's palms itched and he asked her if she'd considered a private arrangement. she'd considered him for a long moment and said of course, if it was him that wanted her baby.
