Incredibly disheartened right now. I have no clue what happened but all my notes and drafts for H&V Ch9 had been completely wiped... even as far back as some of my Ch8 drafts disappeared. 😔

Updates/WIPs

Irl had taken a lot of unexpected turns for me for the last couple of months, but for the most part in a good way. I'm in the middle of a career change which is both nerve-wracking and the most liberated I've felt in a long time.

Writer's block and self-doubt has been majorly kicking my ass, so it's been affecting my writing quite a bit. Some days I can only get a sentence in. But I go through bouts of this every so often, so it's not as terrible as it sounds.

I've also been trying to revise my approach and mindset towards writing, and taking it more casually. Looking back, I've spent an obscene amount of time writing, editing, scrutinizing my own work - to a point where it was bordering unhealthy (this also has a lot to do with my tendency to hyper fix on interests). As much as writing fanfic has been an absolute joy for me, I realized in order for this hobby to be sustainable I need to take it more casually before I crash and burn.

With that being said, here are the status updates of my current works:

H&V Chapter 8 -> overall outline completed, 65% done on first draft. I really want to have this out by early October.

Blue Sea Part 3 -> 85% completed. I'm still very on the fence about this part and as much as I love what I have planned for this, it's been a struggle to write this for some reason. So in the odd chance I do get Part 3 out, I will probably put this on the back-burner after Part 3 is out. Sorry to any of those who came here for this series.

Here are some things that are on my radar and I've been chipping away at it and have no set release date:

65-hr work week has been immensely taxing.

I've been reading a lot of thriller stuff lately (particularly Freida McFadden's stuff) and now I want to try my hand at thriller/psychological horror. Partly because of spooky season, but also because I just love those genres so much.

P.S. if any of you have thriller, gothic, horror book recommendations, please let me know!!!
