Jesus H Pennyloafers, did Maddie get Twin Peaksed? Seriously is Scott going to have travel to the Black Lodge to get this surreal shitfest figured out? Fuck. After Scott travels to Alaska to find his missing wife, he discovers that all traces of her entire existence have been erased, then he starts having a nervous breakdown where he sees visions of the Dark Phoenix (and during which he does not hesitate to blow the shit out of his wife with his optic blast), but then he finds a baby rattle behind a radiator, proving that Maddie truly did exist and her disappearance had been covered up. I’m guessing this is all an elaborate plot designed by Mr. Sinister, who has yet to make his first appearance, to fuck with Scott. But geez Maddie sure looks dead up there in that last panel. And shit, look, here comes Master Mold.
I’m kinda getting into these issues of X-Factor. (X-Factor #13 – Feb 1987)
So… Master Mold comes back in this comic. We literally have not seen Master Mold in an X-Men comic since X-Men #16 which was published in 1966. This issue of X-Factor references a battle that took place between Master Mold and some mutants in Incredible Hulk Annual #7, but I seem to have missed the boat on that one. Apparently, Steven Lang, who was responsible for creating the X-Sentinels which battled the X-Men in X-Men #96-101 and was ultimately responsible for Jean’s first death, was somehow able to infuse his consciousness into Master Mold’s memory circuits, and now he’s after Cyclops for revenge. Man, I kinda want to track down that Hulk Annual and see what happened. (X-Factor #13 – Feb 1987)
