Things are finally coming to a head in the Inferno crossover. It looks like Madelyne Pryor is about to confront her estranged husband for the first time since he walked out on his family way back in X-Factor #1. However, Madelyne is no longer the doting housewife that Scott walked out on. Her trauma and anger have manifested within her heart and ignited latent powers, and she has become the Goblin Queen. Now… how much do you want to BET… that this is going to turn into a classic case of Cyclops telling his wife “well gee honey if you dressed like that when we were together I never would have left!” Mark my words. Here’s the first direct confrontation between genetic twinsies Jean Grey and Madelyne Pryor, and it goes about as well as you’d expect (basically like Jean borrowed Maddie’s favorite sweater and accidentally left it at the bar and she can't remember which bar). You guys have so much in common!! Can you imagine the mini-series adventures these two could have if they were friends?? Like if they could muster a single god damned feminist bone between them and ditch that walking Cialis® erection Cyclops and go on a road trip together. Man, I would buy the shit out of that comic. I also like this little bit of Michigan J. Frog Maddie pulls on X-Factor right before the X-Men show up.

Finally Scott is forced to face the woman and child he walked out on way back in X-Factor #1. And he’s forced to answer for some of this god damn shit he’s pulled over the years, like when it kinda seemed like there was a slight chance Maddie could possibly be in trouble and Scott was all like “OH TRAVESTY MY WIFE IS DEAD WHEREEVER WILL I FIND LOVE AND HAPPINESS AGAIN OH WAIT IS THAT MY EX-GIRLFRIEND I WONDER IF SHE’S STILL SINGLE.” Seriously, he practically had her pronounced legally dead when she wasn’t answering the phone for five god damn minutes because she was in the basement doing laundry or something.

This is kind of like the presidential debates before George W. Bush’s second term when he had been waging war all over the Middle East for no good god damn reason and nobody was calling him on it until that walking Cialis® erection John Kerry debated him. He had the same brain dead nut sack look on his face that Scott has on his face right here. (X-Factor #37 – Feb 1989)

I like his little bit of Hot-Potato / Butter-Fingers we get to play with Scott and Maddie’s kid right here. She just chucks him over her shoulder to Jean's dogified parents like he’s a half-eaten Taco Bell chalupa that she’s going to get back to later tonight. And guess what. This kid turns out just fine!! The only reason I’m including these panels is because Beast is wearing his costume at the beginning of this comic and he’s naked at the end of this comic and I was sitting here trying to remember when his clothes fell off. Well here it is. Also, Warren may have rejoined the team after getting transformed into the Angel of Death by Apocalypse, but he doesn't have a single god damned line in this whole comic unless you count the sound his wings make when they cut a demon in half.
